Hello, I have a question. Does anyone here use the Hondata app on iOS and have the microphone access message been disabled, yet the app continues to crash afterward? Also, are my gauges off on the readings? For instance, my voltage gauge starts reading 14.3 volts, but while driving on the highway, the reading drops to 12.3 volts. I’m not sure if modern cars work that way, but I have a similar gauge on my 2006 car, and the readings aren’t like that. The IAT is also about 30 degrees lower than what the log R gauge is showing. Both gauges are pulling information from the same source, so why are there such significant differences? I have the Hondata Complete app for reference. I contacted them and was told to reach out to the app’s developer. However, on iOS, when you do that, you’re taken to the Hondata page, and if you report a quality issue, it says you’ll receive an update in 48 hours. Those 48 hours have been 3 weeks. I don’t understand why the app wants access to my microphone and doesn’t work properly, and Hondata doesn’t seem to offer support for the app with their name on it. I’m probably doing something wrong that I’m unaware of, but that option doesn’t appear in the app’s settings.

Yeah, I’ve noticed that too — the Hondata app on iOS can be unpredictable lately. The microphone access issue seems unnecessary, and those voltage drops you mentioned definitely look suspicious. I had a similar mismatch between IAT readings and what my other gauges showed, so it’s not just you. Sometimes, these generic apps just don’t integrate perfectly with certain vehicles or iOS updates. I’ve been submitting tickets on the App Store, but the developer, Hondata, has ignored them. They claim they’re not responsible for the app, even though they own it. I might sell the Hondata FlashPro and ask for a refund on the app. I’m considering switching to Cobb, but I need more information about the access port. Hondata owns the brand name on the app, but this incident and others has affected my perception of Honda and Hondata. I’ve been out of the Honda game for 11 years and this is my first new car in 19 years. I don’t know what happened to Honda or Hondata. Did they ignore the issues or was it just my luck? Maybe I expect too much from Honda and the aftermarket community, or at the end of the day, it’s a Civic Sport with cosmetic modifications.

The Hondata app is trash, I only use it to clear codes. Ever since I installed it the dashboard gauges have been mirrored on my phone and there's no way to get them in the right orientation

I was stoked because I didn’t have the necessity of having a Gauge pod like on my EVO, but you’re right, the app is trash. Don’t get me started on the CarPlay part. But I guess nothing will replace a set of gauges. I just wanted AFR to be monitored and oil temp and pressure because I read in a couple of posts that the log R isn’t too accurate. But like everything with this platform, I’m really frustrated and disappointed, or I have my expectations way too high for the money you pay for the car and the premium they put on parts… bEcAUsE iT’s A tYpE r!

Yup I was disappointed with the Log R app too. The oil temp is a calculated value and it errs on the side of safety heavily. It tends to be 10-15 degrees higher than actual temps from a real gauge. It also doesn't account for when the grade of the oil is changed.

I don't mind gauges but it's hard to find something that fits the aesthetic of the interior without screaming tuner car.

I been in the look out but like you I can’t pinpoint one set that doesn’t make the interior look bad. If I was good with 3D printing or have one but a good one to use it once or twice isn’t exactly accessible option 😂.
