Does anyone have this on their car? What are your thoughts about using this over some of the other options?

Is this turbo available for sale already? Based on what other JDM companies have done it might just be a rebadged MHI stage 2 turbo. Well have to wait and see when someone gets it over in the US

I've heard this rumor as well. True or not, someone would have to bring some very strong data to the table to attempt to justify the JDM tax applied to this product. There are well proven options already on the market at a much more reasonable cost.

Im in total agreement, I really don’t see this outperforming the Kuro(+), RV6 or MHI options enough to justify the cost. Only a die hard HKS fan would get this turbo over the brands I’ve stated

This is what drives most people to pay the Spoon, HKS, etc., tax. Not necessarily logic :)

it's interesting that it says you can run it with stock software. could that be? iev never heard of running a different turbo without tuning for it. it must be pretty close to stock size then.

Before tuning was available for the FL5 we bolted on a P700 for kicks. The car "ran fine" - no errors or anything. It was definitely underperforming though, it would not make sense to upgrade the turbo without tuning for it.

Perfect, now I have to collect on a bet lol! Would be nice to see a side by side with the Spoon and J’s Racing version. To see what differences there are if any.

The only difference between the HKS, Spoon, J’s Racing and MHI V2 is the hefty price tag on their Logo sticker you see on their turbo. Lol. It’s all the same. One big Japan manufacturer different sellers. Pick your poison. ☠
