I'm interested to do APR engine bay cover; however I have to hold the intention because the way the secondary air path. I'm concern that the driver side of the cover will not fit.
Just confirmed that APR engine bay cover will interfere with Gruppe M secondary air path side, so if you want to make it work, need to cut a bit of carbon fiber. Decided not to proceed :banghead:.

Okay, I have a bit of an update.

I was about to head to my tuner and get the intake tuned due to the weird idle issue I was having.

As I was putting the GruppeM intake back on, before heading to the tuner, I saw a small area that air could leak at, under the adapter for the MAF where sealant is at. It appeared I didn't have enough of that liquid gasket to seal it up.

I think someone even told me to check that and I assumed I was good, but obviously I was way wrong!

I reapplied (After cleaning off the original I put on) the sealant in all areas as originally done...this time; I put a massive amount, waited for it to cure; then cleaned up any leftover.

I put the intake back on and it's like night and day...zero zero issues. I drove around like mad...trying to get it super hot, drove like a maniac (in safe areas of course lol).

I have no issues with the idle, it's perfect, power feels great.

So perhaps no tuning is required...only proper installation and less user error on my part

I'll have to edit/update my Facebook post later after work.

This is great news, thanks for the update. I'm sure it will help people who has similar issues.

I'm loving my Gruppe M, actually I like the 'whooossshhh' better than PRL in my FK8. And I'm being objective here ;)

Appreciate the update, I had placed an order with Blackhawk Japan and your prior issues had me doubting the purchase.

no prob. Definitely apply a lot of that sealant lol. The instructions were vague and almost sounded like it didn't want me to put too much, because it would leave a lot to clean up after it cured, but now after redoing it, def apply a lot. I honestly never experienced using that sealant. Wish they just supplied a real gasket type of thing

Putting them together reminds me a lot of assembling LEGO, never frustrated - just pure fun ... LOL

Ok soooo the new verdict is no tune required

just read and follow more carefully lol
Just yesterday I gave my tuner datalogs he requested. He doesn't like the look of the MAF scaling and says I need to have this intake tuned. Gotta love it. He said it may feel fine but it needs to be tuned

Advice would be to check really well all the connections and that no leaks are present. If there are your tuner will just chase his tail trying to adjust the intake.

I did that already. All connections are good.

I'm not alone, few others commented on facebook this intake indeed requires a tune. It will "FEEL" fine, but it's not good lol
