I love the look of the OEM carbon wing with the exception of the red weave. Curious if anyone has had any experience with the EPR wing (preferably for a decent amount of time) and can attest to its fitment and quality of the weave/clear coat.

Also, second question sorta related, but sorta not. Has anyone put matte PPF over gloss carbon? My exhaust tips are matte carbon, and I’m not sure if a glossy wing will clash.

Not trying to change your mind, but have you seen the OEM carbon fiber wing in person? Under various lighting conditions? IMHO, the red weave doesn't present as tacky or overwhelming. I characterize the weave as understated or a hint of red. It does not overindex red. If you can answer 'yes' to the above questions and you're still not a fan, all good.

You're overthinking the gloss vs. matte finish. I believe we have the same exhaust and I have the OEM carbon fiber wing. Matte cf exhaust tips and gloss wing is a non-issue. Gloss vs. matte or 2x2 vs. 1x1 weave pattern matter most when the mismatches are in very close proximity to one another. Think adjoining panels - fender and hood or wing and trunk lid.

Fair point on the glossy vs matte.

I have seen it in person and it looked fine on champ white, but didn’t love it on the SGP that I saw it on.

Ive had the EPR wing for almost a year and its holding up well. Someone asked about the wing in April and this is what I said:

"It looks great from 5+ feet away. Up close you notice some seams and imperfections though. I originally bought the OEM from an online Honda parts dealer but when it arrived it had a small Crack because it wasn't packed with anything other than the thin cardboard box and a super thin piece of foam wrapped around it. As nice as it was, I didn't feel like it was worth 2k so I returned and took a chance on this EPR one. It was like $675 and they had a 10% coupon so close to $600. When I noticed all the imperfections I contacted the seller to discuss returning it and they eventually offered to give me $300 to keep it so I did. Eventually if it gets messed up I'm going to get it painted with black pearl to match the car.

Every FL5 owner that sees it thinks it's OEM and I have to show them the seams and imperfections for them to even notice. For 1700$ or even 1400$ less I'm happy. It's covered in pollen right now so not the best pictures"

Thanks for the pics. The seams are enough to steer me another direction.

When it starts losing clear coat or otherwise looking rough I think I'm going to try this gloss black one from aeroflowdynamics.com . I really love this style and shape but I think I'd prefer black over CF for my black FL5. Also it's only $400

I can understand that. I think after they gave me the discount to keep it they put all sorts of disclaimers about imperfections etc too

I will admit I was not super into the red weave but liked the shape of the wing. Decided to go for OEM because I have had cheap carbon parts and the clear sucks and after a few years its bad.

I got mine for a crazy good deal cuz it was used but personally I don't think the quality is there for $2000, the clear kinda sucks and has imperfections too. Maybe its just mine. However for a few feet away it looks fine and the weave not gonna lie its pefect and looks beautiful. I will probably have it re cleared by a pro sometime.

The red is not super apparent and now I love it, its just different and works really nicely with a cham white car
