I made a post on here a couple months ago. I bought a 2025 Type R. It’s been sitting since mid October. Pretty sad that such a beautiful car that I own I can’t even drive much. Only 88 total miles. With that being said is there anything so far of issues that anyone has see early on that I could address quickly? It’ll be spring of 2026 before I can really do anything with the car. Any top speed that anyone has hit? The only thing I’ve noticed is after my last drive there was a decent amount of brake residue on the wheels. Beyond that I’ve just been staring at her every night when I get out of the work truck.

Idk how to answer this. I daily mine and it’s the best feeling every time getting in this thing.

I’ve only had it a few months so I’m excited to experience spring and summer with it

Same here, I drive mine at any opportunity I get.

But I am in SoCal, where we have two seasons, a dry season and a hotter and drier season...

It is so much fun to drive that I get an itch every time I go into the garage or just think about it

It is the best thing you can do with your pants on :)

lol, no there are no preventative issues to fix, the only issue to fix is you need to drive your neglected baby.

All OP needs to do is keep driving (or at least drive more) conservatively for the first 600 miles while he is still in break in period.
Then give it hell and stomp on that gas pedal after that.

Why can't you drive it? In storage for the winter?

This is my type Rs first winter too and I've been religious about keeping it safe from salt with a. Undercoat and constantly washing it. I love driving the car, but I hate the idea of it rusting. At least with other cosmetic damage, it's not gonna destroy the car.

I think all you need to do is drive the car, do oil changes at intervals that aren't huge, and put in high quality fuel.

what’s the recommended fuel for it? Since I never drive it the higher end fuel won’t break my bank.

Minimum octane is 91, I usually get Sunoco 94 for peace of mind. Just make sure you're using at the least top tier 91 (top tier is a branding thing that has minimum qualifications, you can look them up)

And not to forget the 600-1000 mile limitations as well. Or not

The only common issue I've seen (and experienced myself) is the plastic coolant expansion tank cracking and leaking coolant fluid. An aluminum welded one from PRL solved this issue for me. I did have it dealer replaced under warranty but I figured if the first plastic one failed, the next one probably would too.

My 2024 is into it's second winter. It is resting in the equipment shed until temps get above 50 F..Top speed??I have not run it to the top in 6th, but I tapped it out 5th @ 148 MPH indicated..I have 265/35/19 tyres on it so the speedo is not accurate. It felt more stable at 140 than it did at 105..Just over the ton, it got a tiny bit squirrley. It started moving around a bit more than I expected..I have no idea what the ambient breezes outside were up to...at 110, it smoothed out and flew straight.

If you watch Honda's Nuremberg lap record, you'll see the car gets to 5th gear redline pretty quick (mid-140's mph), but acceleration really slows in 6th. You'd need a very long stretch to hit top speed, increasing the risk of encountering law enforcement and fatal accidents.
