I added 1/4" spacers (hardware store bronze bushings - in AZ no worries about dissimilar corrosion) between the hood vent and its drip shield, using longer bolts.

I installed the WOT Cooling Plate, exchanging the supplied Allen head fasteners for 6mm x 20 flange head bolts. The Allen heads were fiddly compared to flanged, hex head bolts in my opinion.

I covered the airbox with Thermotech fiberglass backed, self adhesive foil.

IAT's generally lower than before. Zero downsides other than time & money spent.

Did the spacers allow for more heat to exit the hood vent? Curious about this...

Get an intercooler, Cooling plate and upgraded radiator . If those don't alleviate your concenrs then an oil cooler and turbo cooler should get the job done.

Please elaborate on the observations, conditions, expectations and areas of cooling intent.

I am curious... but could use more details please:

Did you put the spacers only on the two front bolts? or all around?

will these 8mm aluminum spacers work (slightly longer than 1/4" but Prime Day discount...)

is this the Thermo-Tec heat shield you used?

Thanks

Spacers increase the flow area. I put spacers under all the fasteners. My car is garaged and rarely sees rain (Arizona), but it does get hand washed once dusty enough. I still want the rain shield to direct water around the O2 sensor.

BTW, RainX spot free cash wash liquid works great for those of us with hard water. Virtually no water spotting, even washed under a hot sun.
