Chilly's 2025 FL5 Civic Type R Build

I suppose I should make a new build thread for the FL5. I probably won't go into modding it as much as I did with the FL1, I'm pretty content with a lot of what the FL5 has standard. Might do some suspension upgrades as I have all the RV6 rear arms and sway bar and maybe wheels and tires. I do also have some parts from the FL1 that is also for the FL5 that I squandered away.

It is a bit difficult right now with all the tariffs and taxes from customs to get some of the things I really want. We shall see where I decide to go with it, but this is what I have so far, not much since only having the car a couple weeks now.

How was your experience getting a CW FL5 in socal? Were many available? Did you pay a dealer markup? Which dealer did you get it from?

I did not buy in SoCal, by the time I bought mine there really weren't any in Championship White in the area. I think the only one was out in San Bernardino, but they put some really bad fake carbon wrap on the hood and roof and were not budging on removing it.

Got the deal done over the phone with a dealer in Central California. No markup, MSRP plus some accessories. Paid the retail cost of floor mats, trunk mat, wheel locks, and illuminated door sills. Took a small 3 hour road trip, showed up, inspected the car, traded my car, signed paper work and was out the door in less than 2 hours.

Put in the SRP Pedals I previously had installed in the Sport Touring. They really do look good against the red carpet of the Type R.

I think it just makes it easier for everyone to include it. People always want to know, and the infos there.

I bought my last car from Norm Reeves Cerritos. I kept hitting up my sales guy, but they didn't have any in inventory. They finally got some recently, but I think they all got sold fast.

I got lucky with mines. They had 10 in stock! (my CW #22944 left most car) Was initially 10k over MSRP but I kept pushing for MSRP. We finally agreed MSRP + the accessories in the car (which is fine because I wanted them anyways). I have the Mikstore rear vents for months now, just haven't had the time to install them. Since the console is out, I'll replace the led .

Finally got the Megachip Splash Guards today. They're a kind of a softer material, but I like the design and the built in mesh guard for the front vent.

Saw these on a random YouTube video a long time ago. Put similar ones on my previous Sport Touring and now the FL5. This is probably a very insignificant mod. I just like that these are a lot brighter than the OEM LED.
