Hi.I couldn’t find any threads or how I was wording it. I have a pair of Blizzaks from my old Si in 215/45/17. Looking to get steel wheels or beat up Honda wheels and putting these on. Question is do I need I-HDS to change wheel size or a decent OBD tool?
I think OP might be referring to the difference in tire circumference throwing the speedometer/odometer off.You will probably just need to recalibrate your tire pressure in your car's dash computer after installing the new wheels and tires. At least that is how it works in the FL5 Type R.
Just guessing.
With as much as I drive each the winter (maybe a couple thousand miles) I get about five seasons out of a set of winters, and when I retire them it's usually because the compound is getting hard, not because of the tread depth.Blizzaks don't last very long. I'd just live with the minor speedo error and go bigger with your next set of tires.
A GPS will give real speeds at cruise, if you dont have radar signs in your area to calibrate yourself.
Oh... that. Right.I think OP might be referring to the difference in tire circumference throwing the speedometer/odometer off.
I solved this by getting the right size of tire but he's trying to reuse a set he already has.
Literally not wrong at all. BMW products are the absolute worst with this.EDIT:
Also, "right size tire" is subjective, since most of the time the OEM tire is too short and too skinny for the wheel upon which it is mounted. Just my correct opinion.![]()
I swapped my winter rims (also used on my 9th gen 2012 si) which is a 225/45/R17, 17x7.5 rim I believe offset not sure of off memory... Anyway, no codes or anything. i did do the tpms calibration after swapping. the sidewall height (45) on a 17" tire is almost the same size as the 18" in 35. I am about 1 mph off at 75mph via gps, so close enough for me, and as I said no codes or anything.. hope that helps.I couldn’t find any threads or how I was wording it. height is about the same on a 215/45R17 as stock 18s. I'm running 225/45R17 mph (gps) is about 1 mph slower than dash, which was the same with the 18s...I think OP might be referring to the difference in tire circumference throwing the speedometer/odometer off.

Yeah my brain was stuck on Type R sizes.height is about the same on a 215/45R17 as stock 18s. I'm running 225/45R17 mph (gps) is about 1 mph slower than dash, which was the same with the 18s...
