So, I noticed this noise when turning my wheel rapidly back and forth while stationary or under 3-4 mph. It’s a knocking noise. I made a post about it at 10k miles and others said they had the same noise so I assumed it was normal.
No play while driving above 5 mph.
But, i’ve noticed it’s gotten louder. I’m at 70k miles now.
Is this just norma tie rod slop that goes away once moving?
Can anyone else try rapidly moving their wheel back and forth while stationary with a 10th or 11th gen? I want to see if it’s normal. I have a ‘23. Thanks!
update: got on the ground after work and twisted the driver's side outer tie rod end by hand and I could hear the same metallic knocking noise when twisting it. Not sure what it's making contact with (control arm?). I'll have to get another look when it's light out. or maybe the bushing is just worn out and it's making contact with itself.
