The badge number means nothing though. Mine is 631 and my vin is 0035.

As was explained to me here a while ago...
the badge numbers are sequential for All cars manufactured, while the vin is only sequential based on the code in the beginning of the vin. that code at the front of the vin specifies what country and what color, etc... so you are number 0035 vin for that color within that country.

Can't speak about the vin, but my understanding for the badge number is its not sequential per say. Rather, Honda factory workers use them in batches (lets say batches of 500), so while the first 500 FL5s will have badges ranging from 1-500 they will be in whatever order the factory worker happened to pull out of the bin at the time.

This means if we have FL5 badge # 9734, then we know we "could" be up to 9734 FL5s, like we could actually just have produced 9501 FL5s and it happened that the first badge pulled out of the bin was the 9734 one.

Badge numbers are global and imagine in sequential order. Not random from whatever bin.

The only ones that might match their VIN are the ones that were produced in Japan in the first batch. I don’t really understand why people thought the VIN and number plate would ever match as VIN is based on region.

I don’t think Honda Canada has anyone working lol
Many people have emailed Honda Canada back in 2022, even put in our emails to the Honda.ca website. (There is a slot for us to enter our email to receive updates for the new type R.). But Honda ca never email us!!
I email honda back in January explaining all my situation and dates and everything they wrote me a generic email back saying basically don’t call us. We’ll call you they don’t care it feel like

Actually I have 2 deposits in diff dealerships, no. 2 (AB) and no.6 (BC). Lol

I tried putting a deposit there too but was told by the sales they don’t accept any already way back July 2022. May I know when did you had yours and are they adding Dealer Markups there?

Sorry for the questions bro, you are first of the few to have one here in the group. ?

just things people shared in this thread over the past 2 weeks, plus me randomly browsing honda dealer websites today (Vancouver area), R is great but Si is so affordable and with quite a few of them sitting on lots, I thought I could probably get one under MSRP lol.
It seems like @Shichi knows people at dealerships. he seems quite up to date on which dealers have Rs soon or on the lot.

I believe @Shichi is a sales man in surrey dealership, that’s why he knows more than us.

@DuncanR Congrats! Happy to see people are slowly getting their cars! Did you already know the car was on its way?

...It's exactly a month since my dealer said they would be contacting Honda Canada to see when they would be receiving their next allocation, never heard back. They're supposed to be one of the bigger dealers here in Quebec (although a lot of dealers like to make that claim) and are expecting 6-7 cars, yet they only delivered one in November, mine is supposed to be next. Kind of hoping they are just being lazy and when it shows up one day, that's when I'll get the call. Wishful thinking ?
