I know that at least in Alberta, its mandatory to have engine block heaters so they need to factor this in. I guess they just haven't officially announced the price on their own dealership website yet so they say they don't have it.

EDIT: I also did have a dealer ask me why all of a sudden they got a lot of inquiries this morning. So they probably don't follow the news lol
Where did you hear it was mandatory lol? Both my BRZ and FK8 I asked specifically not to include block heaters and dealers complied with no more than an "okay".

At this rate I'm feeling I'll get the integra type S before my turn for CTR comes. I think I will be fine with that
i was thinking that for a back up if not the GRC but i heard rumors about Integra Type S getting a detuned version of the K20C or may be because it's heavier it would only pump out 278 hp ... at least for Acura my brother in-law works as technician there so may be have better chances... and as we learned from this experience always put deposits in multiple dealers and don't rely on a single one or a single rep

So let’s add more fuel to the fire… just got a call from salesman, they are reimbursing my deposit and immediately putting a new deposit back into the Honda system. GM was told Honda does not want people with multiple deposits everywhere, they want to control that.

No news on total allocations or when they will arrive, but I am guaranteed to receive one apparently. Somehow I was bumped up from #3 to #2, just behind a colleague of his. They wanted red, I asked for sgp first choice, cw second choice, so it might just friggin happen.
congrats on the bump, fingers crossed hopefully you get it

"Show me what you got!"

Time for us to all get shwifty in here?
Shwifty in our type Rs or whatever else we cross shop/buy. I can also imagine us going to dealers and saying "show me what you got!"

My rep confirmed they are receiving 2 units from 2023 to 2025 and both are "pre-sold" (one to me, and the other to someone else). He expects to receive them in 2024 as they are not a high volume dealer.
congrats man, just out of curiosity i was told they can't take deposits that far out like in 2025 they would only do a waitlist at this point in time

Okay my bad, I just checked and they aren't. I guess they simply include it in as "standard" and charge you for it unless you specifically tell them no, like you did.

Good info though and thanks for the correction. Now I know how to save myself some money!

He's not wrong, some provinces you cannot sell the car without a block heater. Quebec is one, Saskatchewan is definitely another one. But you do want block heaters there, fucking cold in those provinces, same with Alberta.

Btw, I hope you guys are picking your fav dealer and throwing down a downpayment. I spoke to one dealership and if you don't have a downpayment, your spot on the list is not set in stone. It's first come first serve for people with actual deposits. So I guess unless you got a deposit, your spot is not guaranteed.

I already have one deposit so I'm not putting a second one of course, but this dealership said they have one guaranteed allocation and it's sold already and another person with deposit waiting.

Alberta doesn't get that cold unless you live up North, we usually get a couple weeks of really cold weather. Some years my daily doesn't see a block heater at all. Now being born and raised in Manitoba that is 9th circle of hell fucking cold, I certainly do not complain about the weather here in Alberta, but that's just me.

Maybe that's their dealership policy? I've had a $500 deposit down since April-May 2022. Note that I'm in Quebec, so not sure if its a provincial thing.

yeah it's strange it was just the one dealership that said that to me, i put a deposit a year ago at another one... all these dealerships are independently owned so they come up with their own rules

if you know someone that wants RR and they are being allocated CW ... let me know if we can do a swap... started a separate thread on that
