Hey guys. I recently purchased an SGP FL5 here in southern california after having my FK8 totaled. Here it is straight from the dealer:

Ordered a bunch of stuff I needed but one of the first things I did was install my shift knob from my FK8

Besides being (IMO) the best shift knob. Its also a nice keepsake from the old car. I ordered the acuity shift boot collar to hopefully make the transition between the knob and shift boot a little cleaner. Getting the shift boot off was a real PiTA.

Car is getting tint and PPF done so will post when I get it back!

Hey Blayed ...... nice looking shift ball ......... ;-) I saw some reviews that the top shift pattern etchings were not being smoothed out and a little rough on the palm when shifting. Are you seeing this issue? Thanks in advance ........... Dos ;-)

Big update dump! Got the car back from the films and detail place!

Clear PPF on front half of car, Gloss Black PPF on roof, Ceramic Coating, and Xpel CR Plus ceramic tint: 20% all around and 55% on windshield. Really happy with how it came out!

Next, I was able to wire in my radar detector and dashcam (both pulled from my FK8). Unfortunately there is no blendmount option for the FK8 but the suction cup mount ended up being pretty clean. I wired it from the dome lights. Very nicely out of the way but still accessible.

I installed the mugen scuff plates and door sills:

I think the 11th gen door sills and kick plates look better than the 10th gen! The kick plates are basically the same but the door sills look better.

Finally I went with Tuxmat front and rear floor mats + trunk tray + seat protectors. These are really top notch, and the clips that come with it help so much with fit. The trunk mat and rear seat protectors are REALLY nice. Much better than the OEM honda type R trunk tray

The Rear Tuxmats are A1:

The front mats are great! Arguably the best fitting and highest quality mats on the market. I apologize for the dirt it is raining here:

You can see how far they go and the clips that keep it in place. However, you can probably notice some duct tape there, which leads to the one possible fatal problem ...

I got the mat to sit flush in the well so it doesnt interfere with the travel of the clutch pedal. HOWEVER, as my left foot moves in and out, the lip of the rubber mat catches on the heel of the foot. If anyone is curious I can upload a video to explain what I mean any further.

I have tried to put duct table to make the lip transition smooth, but it doesn't fix it 100%. Unfortunately unless anyone has any suggestions this may be a total non-starter. Extremely annoying and possibly dangerous at high speed. Really bummed. I ordered the 3D/Maxpider/Kuru mats (which is what I used on the FK8) for the front which will arrive tomorrow. I may end up running 3D brand mats on the front and tuxmats on the back ...

Tried installing the Acuity shift boot collar. I had one on my FK8. The OD of the acuity shift boot collar stem is much smaller than the OD of the stock shift boot collar stem by around 1/4". Because of this, the shift boot has to fold significantly to be tight around the shift boot collar and looks bad. On the FK8 the opening of the shift boot is smaller and this is not a problem. But on the FL5 this is insurmountable.

Hi Doskiller. I have not had this problem on mine. I purchased my Skunk2 shift knob around december 2020 so I am not sure if maybe these are a specific lot or specific era in which it was a problem.

I can relate to this.. Between my left foot catching the lip and the clutch pedal sticking slightly to the mat, I ended up returning the TuxMats. Went with Lasfit and no issues, although I miss the full coverage of Tuxmats.
