These are awesome brah!
I still have my FK8 stock exhaust that I can cut up;
Man, I'm super temped to do this + cut and cap the two side exits for single exit straight thru.
I know, I'm definitely in the minority for single exit.
Thanks. I'm very satisfied with the results - for a $50 piece of 2.5" stainless steel its 100% worth trying before spending thousands on a full system. Even if you got a shop to do it it'd be less than $300US.

The FK8 exhaust is completely different to the FL5 in the way the exhaust pipes are routed - the Centre resonator on the tail section is actually a helmholtz chamber on the FK8 while on the FL5 the exhaust flows through the centre resonator and then out the tips. So be aware that the results may vary!

The 2.5 wont be nearly as good as 3 if you land up w a down pipe though.

Thats my point…
Oh, thought you were going to suggest I run a 3" pipe as a res delete on a 2.5" system hahah...

Plenty of people making big power on the stock 2.5" system on the FK8 so I can't see much reason to go 3". Think Dream Automotive did a dyno on the 3" Milltek system and saw no gains on stock tune.

Personally I'm staying stock ecu for the foreseeable future and focusing on handling/suspension.

There are no gains on an exhaust without a down pipe lol. Add the downpipe and you will want the 3 inch exhaust to boot. Make sense now ?

Not really. I'm not sure how your post applies to a res delete - remember I'm not reinventing the wheel here. Its a simple res delete. Don't overthink it :)

And then you brought up no power gain. Again, you definitely are not overthinking here. So my point is if you want power down the road, aftermarket is the way to go along w a down pipe. Why fk with the stock exhaust on this gem? Now that Ive boiled it down to its most basic (third grade) form, you can put the pieces together?

Did you seriously just say why fk with the stock exhaust with this gem and then suggest going aftermarket?
Do you not see the contradiction?
Or is your head that far up your ass that you don't?

I'm not sure what you're trying to achieve here but telling someone doing a res delete to go aftermarket full system is as stupid as telling someone doing a tune to replace the whole engine. Or someone doing springs that they should've done coilovers instead. You're missing the entire point of the mod. Of course there are better solutions out there - they all come with a cost. The point of the res delete is to achieve a better exhaust tone while keeping the factory tips cause subjectively I think they look better than all the aftermarket options out there. Not once did I say anything about trying to achieve power. It's obviously not within the scope of the res delete. Anyone who's done a res delete before knows this. It's not rocket science.

Now that I've boiled it down to prehuman level does it make sense to you now?

BTW aren't you the one who couldn't work out how to remove the front air dam? Some kindergarten sht right there ?

This has all the makings of a great setup being Ti, 23 lbs weight savings over stock and sounds good. The combination of dual tips and burnt titanium kills this for me though. I've really come to like the OEM tri-tip exhaust set up.
I agree, as I said in a post before. I want to keep the original OEM tips - they looks best. Someone recommended Milltek, but that doesn't keep the OEM tips. I think my only option is the resonator delete, but that comes with some problems.

almost order the stainless version of the Remark exhaust last night, until I saw the Ti version that's double the price, so I'd stopped and have to save a couple more months, then decide on this.

But for now, I'm keeping my options open, which includes hacking up the stock exhaust by, deleting resonator, delete the 2-side exit pipes at the 2.5" pipe, then weld cap plates. But the factor center tips will need dressing up...ordered one of these to cap over factor center tip.

again, I certain I'm the only single exhaust exit enthesis here.
don't know...even Greddy didn't have the above tip in stock, so really not sure when Vivid will ship...

anyways, I'ma gona have to keep y'all posted.

Makes sense. I'm not wed to the diameter as much as I am the arrangement (i.e., three exhaust tips stacked vs. two or one). I like the size of the Milltek tips. Best looking and sounding exhaust IMHO so far. Will be interesting to see what other manufacturers bring to market.
