It's also double the price, but if money is no option BMW m cars are way more special IMO.

If the new RS3 was on sale in Canada. I wouldn't even be searching for a FL5, GRC haha. It's litterally the ideal vehicle I would want to end my ICE era in.

But alas it's not for sale here and next RS3 will be electric according to Audi.

I'm starting to accept that I'm 80% probably going to end up in the M2 or Type S with how things are going.

The main issue with the audi in terms of handling can be resolved via the aftermarket. Steering, not so much. But for what you get, it's probably the best all arounder in that price category bar none for me.

Unlike some of you who are in mote exotic locations, Canada's roads are almost 80% straight open roads. Very little mountain roads, curves etc. The RS3 shines here because if that fact.

Golf R starts at $45k, RS3 at $60k.

M2 is right there at $63k though I’m not a fan of the new styling.

I drove on Mont Tremblant Circuit, that had nice curves. And Mosport, not quite as nice.

I want a car with a great sounding engine - choices are few these days. It’s my only complaint about the Type R.

Yes, I'm lucky. I have endless miles of mountain roads 10 minutes from my house. I've never been left wanting for proper places to exercise my car. I can't imagine being a car enthusiast in Kansas or Florida (or Canada, apparently).

It's not that bad, straight roads have their appeal if you have massive HP haha.

It's a fun party trick that doesn't get boring as long as it can still handle decently. Own a Type R here if you don't track ain't much fun, btw I'm speaking about my region specifically (ontario suburbs).

The Type R doesn't truly shine unless you have corners, most of the time it's great, until you meet a tuned golf R lol or even a GTI.

If you are accustomed to the excellent dynamics of the CTR, the RS3 will leave you disappointed.
Its a great engine in search of a decent chassis. The A45s kills it as a driver's car. So does the Civic.

RS3 isn't a slouch either. Honestly for a inexperienced driver I think the RS3 would be faster around a track. Audis might not be as engaging but very easy to drive fast.

There are still some new scat pack dodge challengers with manual out there. Similar price to RS3. If my budget afforded I'd probably get that instead of CTR or RS3 I guess.

You can fix dynamics, you can't really make a 4cyl have what the 5cyl brings to the table.

Better suspension, bushings, sway bars and you will have solved a decent chunk of the dynamics issues. And your drive train warranty is intact.

Making the 4 cyls perform to what the 5cyl can do you void ur drivetrain warranty and it still sounds like a 4 cyl.

To each their own. But I'm of the mind set you can solve dynamics rather easily to a certain point (numb steering is the real downfall of the RS3 IMO). Still won't drive as well as the R perse, but you know what I mean. As a platform I much prefer the RS3 package to the AMG, the aftermarket for the RS3 is way larger than the AMG. The AMG reliability is pretty shotty from what I've heard (atleast the earlier interations.

I'm assuming if you buy a drivers car, you won't keep it stock. As a platform, which is better suited for your needs is what matters not the stock platform IMO (to a certain extent).
