Anyone know if the air dam under the front lip can be easily removed for clearance in a steep driveway?

I've had a good look at it and it appears very simple to remove however I haven't done so thus cannot 100% confirm. It would likely net positive results in terms of reducing front lift at speed too (however at the expense of cd)
EDIT: I've since removed it, easy as pie.

I have a steep driveway as well. Can you take a pic of the air dam? I’m not sure what you are referencing.

Did you end up removing it? I noticed mine is scraping unless I exit my driveway at the perfect angle. It actually looks like the air dam has already been pulled slightly away from the car already…

Are you talking about the vertical, soft plastic strip set back from the bumper that is about 1" tall?

Yup, that’s it. Almost looks like it has a plastic visor tear off on the front side of it too.

There are ~10 bumper clips under there and can be easily removed with a pry tool or flat head. I had to take it off cause I installed APR Front Air Dam Lip.

My assumption is that it helps marginally with airflow and is sacrificial. It probably eked out 1 more mpg or something in the EPA tests :D

Though the scraping sound is rather unnerving, I think of it as sort of an audible warning. That plastic piece is certainly less expensive to replace than other stuff under there that could get damaged.

This is my thought. My work has a steep driveway apron and the road it meets has a pronounced crown. Usually no issues with entering the driveway but leaving can be difficult without scraping the air dam.

I use it as a test on how well I am doing on pull out of the driveway. I can get out without any scraping but it is very hard. Due to being a busy stretch of road I sometimes have to go faster than I want and the sound is awful. Lots of foot traffic in the area too so can be embarrassing, but at the end of the day it isn't anything super important that is getting scraped up.

I do want to lower my car eventually so I may have to remove the air dam at that point.
