I might have to pick one of these up over a Type R... I like the mature look and that exhaust sounds sweet. This should be a lot easier to buy also as it's being built here in the U.S. and inventory shortages shouldn't be a problem. As others have mentioned, I'd rather buy this for low 50s msrp than the R with a 10K markup. The R does feel more special though... I miss my FK8

I just want to know how to get the ITS exhaust on the CTR. I hope it’s plug and play.
Unfortunately I think the over runs are an ecu thing and not the actual exhaust. The only difference between the two exhausts are the tips and I prefer the ITS ones 100%.

I'm not a fan of the fender flares vs. the CTR. Further, the seats don't impress me. Otherwise, this looks like a nice package.

I think I like this slightly more than the type R. But then again I'm the only one who doesn't love how the wing is integrated on the FL5

Eh, this will likely sticker for what I paid on the R and I'm not sad. Would I like a second trunk light, sure but I also like my big wing and NO piano black inside. If the S had the R seats (make them an option) and a sunroof then I'd be more interested. Curious how much better the ELS system is too. I agree that cooled seats are missing for a car in this category, as a Floridian I'd actually use them.

I get the market but the seats look almost totally unbolstered, at least go "Si" level? Would like to see the back seat - looks like at least some of it has alcantara and perhaps more on the door cards.

Don't love the interior design TBH either, it looks worse than the R IMO. Not a fan of the overall changes or two-tone (the gold color doesn't help here, not a good combo). Take a look at the shift knob - it's the old style and uses a spacer. Why?

Glad this isn't making me feel like I should have waited - the seats, for me, make it a non-starter. I don't want to swap in non-airbagged seats and as my primary car and toy right now it "requires" seats with fairly aggressive bolstering. When I get another RWD toy it'll matter less but that's probably 3 years out if I'm being honest.

anyone knows the chassis code for Type S, couldn't find it. The regular one is DE4, so DE5?

I think the differences between the ITS and CTR make total sense, as we’ve speculated for months. ITS is more comfortable and built for the street. CTR is more track-focused. That they didn’t put a big wing and heavily bolstered seats on/in the ITS is confirmation of our speculation being correct. It should be a nice CTR alternative, especially for people who have no plans to AutoX and/or are tired of waiting for a CTR and associated ADM to come down or go away.

I agree the CTR is probably the more “special” and collectible of the two, especially as it is coming to us in limited numbers from Japan. But there are a lot of people out there who could care less about that and just want the CTR performance in a refined package. The ITS meets that need.

Anyone notice that the individual mode settings has way less options to customize vs the CTR?

The fenders look like it can fit wider tires than FL5?

Agreed on the fender flares I think it does clash a bit with the design, seeing how it looks tacked on and not integrated into the body like the CTR but I think its nice every where else. Seats look pretty standard for the car, doesn't look like anything crazy like the M cars or CTRs but I wasn't expecting that.

I do really like the shifter design though
