that’s correct it isn’t entirely accurate, approximately a third of the cars you see there are sold. Thats just what I’ve looked into.

2000 cars for the entire country works out 1.72 cars per dealership, not a large amount by any means

i look at the motoringobsession number in a relative sense, not in an absolute sense.

i agree with you that there probably aren't ~1900 CTR's available for sale on lots or in transit.

however, i do think there are relatively more CTR's available now, than at different points last year. if i recall correctly, the motoringobsession number was ~300-600 for most of last year, ~900 around Christmas, and ~1900 now.

@Wrexysi , @RP2000R , and @Clark_Kent : Thank you all for your responses and advice. So far, all the ones I'm finding are at dealers. I just find the whole response and attitude of "You drive it when you buy it" really off-putting. I'm willing to work numbers and/or put down a deposit so I can at least drive the darn thing before signing on the dotted line.

As far as I know, Cameron (a sales manager) is the one who handles their Type-R sales. Definitely give him a call!

I had the same response. "Cameron handles all Type R sales. If he approves you, he'll be in touch". That was before xmas. Ended up buying in Cinci and to this day even as a cash buyer never heard a word back from this "Cameron".

Motoring Obsession may not be entirely accurate but there are definitely over 10 incoming civic type R in my area alone and some dealers are getting more than one. Just a month ago there was only 1. I've been in contact with several dealers claiming they're the lowest price but it ranges anywhere from 2500-10k mark up including dealer add ons(bullshit protection packages) or dealer installed oem accessories.

I'm hanging in there for MSRP or bust.

I do think Honda is going to crank out the FL5 for awhile, which means MSRP soon enough!

The previous comment of being the last of ICE is waning for all manufactures now that there has been some loosening on Euro 7 or whatever. Rumors are that Porsche is bring back NA to some of its 911 range, which awhile back people also said was impossible.

Again, wishful thinking on my end, we will have to see what Honda does after 2025 with the FL5.

since Porsche is bringing back NA mild hybrid, I wonder if other manufacturers will follow such as future civic type r. I honestly feels more comfortable on the track and reliable with a NA motor+ electric than a turbo motor especially with the ctr overheating issue
