2023 Sonic Grey Pearl available at Ed Martin Honda in Indiana for MSRP — no bullshit or accessories. Ask for Scott Miller. I decided to keep my RS3 :)
manged to find him. Another guy is ahead of me unfortunately but he'd give me a call if that deal falls through. It would be funny if it's your deal he's talking about super ?

Not me! I decided not to buy it which is why I posted here. But a few people messaged me here / on FB so it could be one of them ahead of you.

Honestly I think they're both great in different ways. A car is such a personal thing because everyone has different needs. Like, it's fun to drive an amazing manual transmission and it's fun to obliterate literally every car at a stoplight. I think it's cool to appreciate what's special about each of these cars.

Thanks for this info, hopefully they get a black one! I'm close to Indiana would be a blessing to get one for MSRP.

Just went to check out a boost blue type R. Scummiest sleaziest tactics I've ever seen, first they won't tell you what they're charging ADM over the phone. Basically forced me to drive an hr to the dealership then there was an already sale pending sign on it. When I asked about it they said someone paying 15k over and asked if I wanted to bid more. Then when I pressed them more they said the buyer still hasn't paid them in a month. Mind you this car has been sitting for over a month at this point. Finally when I asked them for a figure they said 59k OTD. What a waste of two hours of my life.

I guess I don't know what I was expecting but all the stories here about decreasing markup was giving me some hope.

Dang, couldn't get to him. Receptionist sent me somewhere else ?

If this happens to anyone else, be cordial, but then hang up and call back. There is a dealer near me where i've gotten my cars serviced in the past so i knew who i wanted to talk to... yet, they STILL send me on to a random salesperson.

The first time it happened, i just went with the flow. It was not only frustrating, but then my own salesperson saw me and it was embarrassing to say the other salesperson had snagged me. What was worse was that my new salesperson was an ignorant snake -- couldn't answer the simplest questions and gave me misinformation. I ended up leaving, and i'm so glad i did. It wasn't right. I can only imagine how many salespeople miss out on their customers due to this practice.

This has happened to me too many times. Now I don’t leave the house until we agree on a price. If a dealer won’t be upfront they’re going to try to screw you.

Just got a call from Honda Universe in Lakewood NJ. They have a 2023 CW CTR that they are willing to sell for $5.5k over. Talk to Alex, tell him this is the price that was offered to Chris. I bought mine 3 months ago, so looking to share in case there is interest. 732-370-9700 x4110. Please let me know if you buy the car!

I hate this. I called a dealer in Arizona around April about a car as well. Dude said "we're the only dealership around here that doesn't market adjust type R's, infact we just sold one". I missed a CW by one person but I would be first in line for the next car since I had reached out to them, according to the sales rep.

So here I am thinking I'm about to score a type r at MSRP, just gotta play the waiting game. Nope, September rolls by and the guy calls me telling me that they just got an inbound. Dude talks price and wanted 10k ? adm. I ask him what happened with the MSRP thing, he said they only do that with SI's, yeah ok.

It worked out though, I was so busy with work stuff during the summer that that car would have just stayed parked, I wanna drive this thing on in the daily lol.

I'm sorry you had to endure this. Often people view what happens on the forums as a microcosm of the broader market for the FL5 and that's not the case. The market has softened, generally speaking; however, there are still pockets of resistance. Some have great dealership experiences, others do not. Some are securing MSRP deals, but many are not. YMMV.

Going forward, I suggest not stepping foot in a dealership until you agree to terms on the sale price and secure the vehicle with a deposit. Several folks believe negotiating in person fosters more favorable outcomes. I disagree. Keep visiting dealerships in person and let us know how that works out for you. Besides, there's little reason to see the car in person as you likely will not be afforded a test drive and everything you need to know about the car can be found on the forums, the countless articles, and videos on YouTube. In short, if they're playing games via phone, email, or text, that should be the first and only red flag you need to move to the next dealership. Good luck and happy hunting.

I could not agree more! I'm in CA and got my FL5 shipped and delivered from Fargo, ND all via phone, text, and the UPS overnight tag of documents.

We agreed on a price during Labor Day Weekend and spent the next month finalizing all the details. My salesperson, Cole Fergen was amazingly responsive via call and text for all of my questions and concerns. I did pay ADM and shipping, but it was worth it because at the time other places were not upfront and ADM's were double the asking before shipping or working with me to ship it.

Each you have a boundary point where you need to be firm and move on if the transaction doesn't feel right or does not meet your threshold of the kind of deal or human interaction you would like.

Super happy my car! Happy hunting you all!

Totally agree -- minus one issue... The Dealer where i bought my car was telling people over the phone 15k ADM... Everyone was saying it wasn't worth it. I tried anyway in-person and got 7k ADM over the original MSRP a year ago plus the much lower finance rates at the time.

I also had stopped by another dealer who was also offering 18k ADM a year ago to several who called. In person, they did go down to around 11k over or so (can't rememb) that included some really nice add-ons... but it was still so stupidly high, it wasn't worth it then. However, it was still much better than what they were telling people over the phone. Right now, that same dealer is telling people 7.5k over the phone, so i wonder if they may be down to 5k or less in person? Trouble is... only way to find out is to go in person. sigh.

However, it's not worth a long-distance drive for a 'maybe.' These were local dealerships that only took about an hour total of my time.

Yes, same kind of experience... My salesperson was upfront, kept the deal that was promised, and was highly responsive via text/phone. He made sure to contact me as i waited for the car to come in... which made me feel more confident (altho being my 1st time with this guy and this dealership, i wasn't sure if i could truly trust them). But, it was a very positive experience -- which made the ADM totally acceptable since it was a mutually agreed-upon ADM.
