Salesman called and they just got 20 cars in San Juan, PR. Just has to go through PDI and … taxes. This’ll be fun. I’m trying to stay optimistic and with a level-head but these stories are getting to me. Wish me luck this or next week.

This kinda stuff really rubs me the wrong way; Honda applies a markup to BBP, CW, and SGP, then (in theory, still too early to tell) throttles production of the cheaper colors. So even if you wanted to save $400 and get a standard paint job, it's really hard to find

Everyone's hurting with all this inflation. As happy as I am for those who already got their FL5s, regardless of markup, I'm glad that many are holding out for more reasonable asks from dealerships
Coming back to the inflation talk, Fed just raised interest by 75bps again. Wait for another 6-9 months if you are patient, the calling is going to be the other way around.

Yes and no...during the first year of rollout I can't imagine one will sit on the lot for 5k ADM or less, regardless of what people are financing. Sure some that are paying 10-20k ADM will be upset, but those are likely the ones without money troubles anyways.

Great point, but I am talking about in general terms. You are right, people who overpay will be upset. Wait until annual reports come out and how many layoffs there will be….being upset is irrelevant when financial burdens hit. I won’t say much because it’s my line of work, but give it a good 6-9 months, things will change quite a bit.

Just put a reservation deposit down for MSRP. I expect to be waiting for two, maybe three years. But that’s okay. Good to deal with a dealership who is upfront and cares about its customers. I have no problem waiting as I’d much prefer giving my business to a dealership that isn’t short sighted.

Good luck to all who are after one of these.

Yes, that would be 20 on the island as of right now headed to me and the other buyers. I'm a little pessimistic, taxes already mark up the cars and I'm prepared but the ADM has to be negotiated. For reference the Nissan Proto Z down the road from this dealership sold for around $95k and this dealer has an SI at $42k...
insane to think people are paying that kind of money for cars with puerto rico's economic crisis

Yup, even as a U.S. territory. Statehood keeps getting shot down for obvious reasons. But I digress. I'll be taking my FE and then my PE to get back stateside with my licenses as an engineer.

Dealership called me today and said they have a black one coming in soon, I asked the salesman about ADMs and told him that I'm not comfortable paying more than 5k$ ADM in this current market. He said he will talk to his manager and this is what he sends me after lol
