I find it crazy that people hate the dealership model so much... And separate from all that... Find Tesla's way so good.

I find that consumers have become their own worst nightmare.

Auto sales have to be the most competitive thing out there. Look at all the commercials.

Basically, in large part before 2020... Consumers were willing to drive 200 miles for $200 price. They had no desire to keep the money in the community for jobs and the like, so the locally owned and operated dealer struggled to keep up. It is difficult for them to sell a vehicle at a loss repeatedly. So, high-volume dealers who can absorb such low pricing became king. They buy dealer after dealer and continue this process. Your customer experience is worse because those dealerships tend to hire JAGs to take your order. The dealership then recoups by tossing package after package in front of you whether you see value in it or not.

Now everything is upside down. The consumer has less leverage. The high-volume dealers that didn't care about you then still don't. What a shock! They are profiting more per vehicle, which isn't enough for many. They need to charge you OVER MSRP. Before, it was BELOW MSRP, and how low can you go... Again, the consumer is their own worst enemy.

I work at a dealership... I'm in sales. I am upfront and honest with people. That has got me to where I am today. We are locally owned. There would never be a day where we agreed to the price on something, only for it to be 10k more later. Honestly, I can't fathom it.

My point is... if it were about finind a fair deal... you likely would have a better situation right now. Instead it was a race to the bottom... everything suffered.

On a side note...

I find Tesla to be shady in my experience. I sold a P85D with unlimited supercharging, which goes to the next customer or is transferrable. Yet even calling a Tesla expert, I couldn't get a straight answer out of him and needed to guess my way through the process. The more I learn about Tesla and EV vehicles, the less I am interested in owning one.

There's a red one on the ground in Maryland for 7k over, I know red is harder to get. Contact Daniel if interested (3016848118)
Good to see MD is coming off that bs. Months later and Westminster won't stop calling me.
