It's worth it but not totally necessary. The muffler does good with it opening and closing with the normal factory operation. It's really only when you're revving it will you want the controller...to avoid it partially closing between revs

I do have a valve controller, a milltek one. I'm not selling that though, in case I ever need it for a different exhaust setup.

No I've had my downpipe on for over a year. I didn't tune it, the calibration is locked by the tuner. Never had an issue like this before. And no it's not the tuner...he's tuned multiple cars I've mone before including the FL5. It hasn't come back after a few days. No idea what the heck it was.

MXP is great. I was pleasantly surprised it has a deep tone. At least from inside lol. I recorded both inside and outside here: (I leave the valve opened for the vids...using a controller for when I want it closed or open)
