Yes that's what I gathered aluminum is tougher then stainless. I don't want to mess it up. I'd be really mad if the solution ate right through.Gotta be careful on aluminum. I'd go orange strip and some green scrub pads.
Goof Off (or Citristrip)Almost 2k and they spray paint a brand new intercooler. Definitely not happy about that. Anyone know how to remove paint from a intercooler?

Yeah, they are build to order (I received mine less than two months after ordering though). If you order through BHJ, they will respond in a few days if the part is not in stock asking if you would like to wait or cancel your order.I was looking at the j’s racing. But the lead time on them was about 3-4 months.
Yea I did, and they gave me the 120 day lead timeYeah, they are build to order. If you order through BHJ, they will respond in a few days if the part is not in stock asking if you would like to wait or cancel your order.
If it were me, I would not mess with it and simply return and buy a different intercooler. After researching available intercooler options (reference this thread), I believe the J's Racing and HKS are the best options as both are true T&F intercoolers.Almost 2k and they spray paint a brand new intercooler. Did you check the lead time on the HKS intercooler kit? I have found the lead times reported from BHJ are conservative.Yea I did, and they gave me the 120 day lead time
I didn’t, already ordered the pwr, should be showing up next week. I’ll just either try to remove the logo or paint it black.Did you check the lead time on the HKS intercooler kit? I have found the lead times reported from BHJ are conservative.
I'm not convinced that there is a better option for a intercooler on the market. I just don't want to be a billboard in less I'm compensated. I'd be happy to compare real world data once you build your car.If it were me, I would not mess with it and simply return and buy a different intercooler. PWR is apparently a good option to consider but the hybrid B&P thing and claims of F1 technology without providing core details never resonated with me. From the outside, it still looks like a B&P. It also adds 2 additional tubes over OEM and I don't particularly care for the fin design considering the price.
Here is a close up PIC of the fins on the J's Racing Hyper Intercooler with core design details posted here:

I guess it depends on your goals if there is a better option. Better at what?I'm not convinced that there is a better option for a intercooler on the market. I just don't want to be a billboard in less I'm compensated. I'd be happy to compare real world data once you build your car.
Doing it's job as a intercooler.I guess it depends on your goals if there is a better option. Better at what?
Ok so OEM works great. Couple of street pulls around town driving. Light weight. Durable. Cost effective. Probably the best option right?Doing it's job as a intercooler.
I mean the oem is the best for you because it's on your car right.Ok so OEM works great. Couple of street pulls around town driving. Light weight. Durable. Cost effective. Probably the best option right?
There is no "best" just a list of requirements and then pick the one that fits.
