I had a set of Fortune Auto's when I owned a Focus RS. Wasn't too impressed with the performance daily driving on rough streets. This is coming from the notoriously stiff stock suspension.

Customer service is great though
thats good feedback. did you get the 500s or 510s?

I had the 500's with upgraded swift springs. I've read more accounts of regretting lesser coilovers (Fortune Auto, BC, etc) than the nicer Ohlins or KWs, but at least a small portion of that is wondering how much nicer the experience would be with an extra $500 (or $1k, or $2k)

Back in 06 Robert fuller aka robispec came out to a shop that was building my evo. I bought kw from him and he did the installation.

They were great I chose to get them for my fl5.
RIP robispec.

KW's quality for general consumer grade coilovers has gone way downhill. V3's are not built for track use and KW will not warranty them if the failure is from track use. There are double digit on-track critical failures with the KW's on the A90 platform.

Fortune is eh -- same parts bin as Silvers and the rest of them. I've been on 510's and 520's on different chassis, and I wouldn't purchase again.

Ohlins or HKS for an OTS solution probably makes the most sense. If you want something more custom, check out Shaftworks out of SoCal. Their custom Bilanx setups are hyper impressive, their engineer is the real deal, and a very competitive driver.

Yah shaftworks is well known at socal. Their cost is 5k to 6k before taxes. Although, i know the guy goes to the track and tune the suspension for you.

If you go single adjustable, it'll be the same price as everything else. If you step up to Penske...well then, yes

3k ohlins vs 7k shaftworks is a big difference. Is it really worth it?
Will is shave 3 to 4 seconds off the track? Lol

As I said...equivalent coilovers from Shaftworks are in the same price range. Single Adjustable Shaftwerks are not 6-7K. They are $2400 with swift springs.

As I also said, if you step up to 2 way with Penske, then it becomes $5600.

So...$2400 Shaftworks are definitely cheaper than $3000 Ohlins.

If you're car has AC, power windows, full interior there's absolutely no reason to get penske coilovers lmfao ?

I disagree -- you will spend nearly an equivalent number with JRZ, MCS, or Nitron. All of which will ultimately ride better and are more compliant on the street and the track than a budget coilover. Having run the gamut of Fortune to JRZ and Penske...I can tell you I'd be pretty hard pressed to buy anything less than JRZ, etc. It would likely have to be a steal of a deal on some Ohlins to do it.

Agree to disagree. However lipstick on a pig is still a pig.

This is a good option. I might buy it.
How big is a difference of single vs double adjustable?

The HKS Hipermax R kit looks like one of the few off the shelf kits with performance focused spring rates.

14k F 14k R spring rates and includes the error cancellers and cable extensions for the rear adjustment knobs so no need to remove the shock or jack up car to adjust

A lot of 2nd Gen BRZ/GR86 track rats have been using them in SoCal with good lap times, but I haven't found any reviews on how they ride on the street.
