Dang wouldn’t think a water bottle would do that damage…
If a paint less dent guy can access behind the panel not a big deal. They may have to drill a access hole to smoothe it out then plug hole with a cap.

It’s a 22oz stainless steel water bottle fully filled up. Still that area seems very fragile….

The dent pro is gonna use glue tape to pull the dent out….. cost $230 ?

Ahhh that makes sense. Atleast it should be a easy fix. The newer cars just keep getting cheaper and cheaper quality imho.

Damn water bottle did that. I feel your pain. I have a tiny dent above my rear wheel arch which I assume was a car door slam. I haven't called a paint less company yet, but I won't sleep right until the dent is gone.

You could throw an illuminated door sill on there and cover the dent entirely? If it's costing you $230 to have the dent (hopefully) removed, illuminated sills would be $300-$400.

This damage in that area can be done with less. I dropped my mobile phone and it dented the door sill with less than 100 miles on the car?. So annoyed. The phone slid off my leg, hit the sill, and then fell on the ground...dented door sill. I couldn't believe a dent could be caused by a relatively light weight object at close range. Anyhow, a good PDR outfit can pull this out for ~$300 without drilling or other invasive approaches. They can make access from the bottom of the car to pull it out. Good luck.

Did you pay a dent pro to fix it? Is it noticeable now?

The install seems a bit tedious

The amount of force concentrated in a small area will do that.

I've had my phone fall face-down countless times over the years with no issue and it only took a 10mm socket from inches away to cause a crack.

Yeah, lame, I know. A Samsung Galaxy S22 to be exact. It's only noticeable because I know it's there. Truth be told, I forgot about it until you started this thread. I had my PDR guy take a look at it and I just haven't gotten around to it. I'll have him take care of it at some point. Based on what I know about his work, it will be completely removed when he's done. He's taken out gnarlier dents with great success, so this is nothing.

Depends on your comfort level with installing these types of parts. They don't look particularly good so I would pass on that alone. I would just fix the dent and be mindful in the future sincethe aluminum in that spot is as soft as butter at room temperature.

They look tacky I agree. If the Type R logo is bigger and spread across the sill, I might look better but I’m not gonna pay $325 for that….

To be fair to them, their hands are kinda forced.
Government want high efficiency average across the fleet ->popular model need high MPG -> reducing drag, power, and/or weight. And weight seems to be the way they went -> thinner panels and less insulation for noise
