Do I have to do anything in particular to get a loan from them? Outside of just being approved?
  • Become a member of the American Consumer Council. Don't pay the fee. Use code USSFCU to waive the $15 membership fee. They will email you a certificate.
  • Apply for USSFCU membership. Attach the ACC certificate. Wait time for USSFCU membership approvals varies. It took mine about a week to be approved but I've heard you can call and expedite it.
  • Open a new USSFCU savings or checking account and make a $6 deposit. I believe there's a $5 fee for inactivity every 6 months so something to consider.
  • Apply for loan or contact a representative for a pre-approval.

Think they would have a little wiggle room on that markup? I'd be interested in the CW but my max is 2, *maybe* 3k on one of these.
I've been searching for a sonic gray type r with a markup of 3k or less for a week or two now. I will say that I'm starting to see more type r's sitting on the lot for weeks even in some cases a month or two now. With the 24 type r's around the corner, getting a markup that is less than 5k should also be happening soon with the 23 type r's. The question is, can you stay patient until that time comes?

Sure, Ideally I'd like to make a move toward the end of the year when they are most likely to come down off their high horses. There is a CW only a few miles from me but they still want 10K over for it, It's been on their lot since at least Sept..It's wild they would want to hold on to it for this long just to try and fuck someone over with 10k worth of hot air.

I have a CW at $3k markup coming this week, it's sitting at the final "port" in OH waiting to be trucked to the dealership in western PA. It's biting me a little bit now that I've found at least one MSRP dealer near-ish me. (Roush respectfully declined to put me on their list due to distance.)

The copium I'm currently huffing is I could end up waiting 1-2 years for MSRP and then get a similar overall deal in the end depending on how things go with my trade. I've got a good deal on that right now.

R price will hopefully come down but like you said the trade value will as well so kind of a wash. Then there is other expenses and maint on your current car while you wait for a R.

Type-R markups should come down with time, but the Type-R MSRP is going to continue increasing year over year (just like it has with all Honda models)--I'd try to get your dealership down to ~$1,500 in ADM (or $1,500 in accessories, possibly even a blend of ADM and accessories of your choosing), because if (speculating here) '24 MSRP goes up by $1,200-$1,800, dealerships may still try to tack on some type of ADM, making the price of this '23 with $3,000 or less in ADM similar/better than what you might get on a '24.

Ah right, and that too - MSRP shift. I actually did try all this - exchanging ADM for accessories etc. My $3k markup is already down from their usual $5k so between that and getting them to come up a bit on my trade I'm maxxed out with them.

I don't think it's a bad price, especially if you're comfortable that you're getting a good value on your trade.
