Honda of Valley Stream (NY) - BAIT AND SWITCH. We had agreed upon pricing for a car that has a $5,000 markup, when I went through with the paperwork they had a contract for $20,000 markup. They blamed it on a computer glitch when in reality they tried to cheat me into paying $15,000 more for the car when TWO sales people agreed to the original price. DO NOT TRUST this dealer they will try to scam you.

That's really unfortunate. What was the resolution or was there one?

The resolution was I posted a ton of negative reviews and filed a complaint with the BBB. What a bunch of a-holes.
Good for you. Long Island has a bunch of crap dealers. Honda City had ZERO interest in keeping my business with them after getting two $40k plus Honda Pilots with them. They wanted $20k over and being a previous two time customer meant nothing. I think they are still sitting on their Type R at $20k as we speak ?

Even if I were to give them a benefit of the doubt that it was a computer issue, they should have honored the price given it was their mistake. They would still be getting a free $5k from me. I was excited about the prospect of getting a CTR with only minimal ADM. Just a big let down. It's OK, I will just have to keep waiting because I refuse to pay stupid crazy ADMs.

Even though my car is still MIA my dealer has been really good to me so far. I am paying an ADM but they have been upfront about everything.

A dealer in the NE reached out this evening willing to cut the ADM in half to close the sale. ADM reduction would be from $20K to $10K. Hard pass for me.

All Heritage Honda’s in Maryland are marking up $20-25k. Won’t discuss pricing over the phone. They have 2-3 available across their dealers.
I just got a call from Westminster and they are willing to do $12k over. I told them nope.

Still good news...hopefully an indication that the initial wave of fanatics have already purchased theirs, and now the rest of us are not willing to pay such high ADMs...

It really does feel like all the hardcore fanatics on this forum got theirs and paid their premium. So maybe! Also am I the only one who thinks it would be absolutely insane that the production numbers aren’t close to the FK8. With this grand pony show they did with the unveil and the walk around an and then track drives and then regular drives. I mean they are even down to loaning these out to car reviewers with under 100k subs. It just seems with so much effort the thought that there’s only gonna be 10k of these things in the US is insane. But hey I guess we live in crazy times. Shrug.

Don’t even bother with them lol. They were asking for $25k before. Don’t bother with Hagerstown Honda or Honda of Waldorf

my money would be on possibly fewer than 6k in the US given timing, constraints and demand in Japan.

With the Integra Type S coming it makes a lot of sense that the FL5 will be lower production numbers than the FK8. There was no competing product produced by the same parent company back then…

FL5 + ITS should get pretty close to the FK8 production numbers barring a massive recession or another pandemic. But you’re delusional if you think they’ll make a bunch of FL5 and ITS. The market for enthusiast $50K cars that are manual only isn’t that big.
