One Old baseball card left on earth bought by a billionaire that loved the player vs a kid vs a mass produced car thats new. Okay. Like I said, long as there are suckers, there will be markups.
I can’t think of a scenario where something people want shows up, and everyone intentionally doesn’t try to get it… billionaire or not. You can call it what you want, but doesn’t change the facts. Not saying I’d want to pay some ludicrous markup either but this is not a new concept. If you aren’t willing to pay markups, then don’t…not changing anything.

Supply & demand...

I am with you Boost. It's crazy.

The thing is... Once the car is in the world it will go for that price. Dealers want to be the one to get it.

I don't like it but it truly is no different than the baseball card out in the world.

Ouch... must be a smaller dealer
Yeah they're definitely one of the smaller ones around me, should've placed multiple deposits/at a higher volume dealership in hindsight but here we are ? Fingers crossed I can get an allocation otherwise it's FK8 for me

Just put in a 1k deposit for a Boost Blue Type R at a dealer in Ontario. Had to shop around and talk to a few dealerships to find who was actually taking pre bookings. People from Ontario, lets check in and connect, so that once the prices are announced, we can compare the prices our dealers offer us and get the best possible deal. Gotta avoid the markups as much as possible!

I’m not sure why people are flipping out about this. You can’t even buy a used FK8 at or below MSRP. Hell they’re selling for$45k with 20-30k miles. People need to chill. If they don’t want to buy one, don’t be mad at the people willing to pay for them lol

market value...something is always worth what someone is willing to pay. one thing i have noticed is fk8 prices are dropping...i monitor them very closely. le prices are going down as they should. one local dealer had one for $62,990 and i offered $55k otd just for fun...they replied back and said $56,850 otd after only having the car up for 2 days. lol

Boost Blue and in Canada? Thought it was only 3 colors, White, Red, Grey here?

I am pretty sure the previous gen CTR was available in the blue color when it came out in 2020. If I remember correctly, Throttle house and Straight Pipes reviewed the CTR in that blue back then.

I am in no hurry to get my hands on the new CTR lol. Its gonna be hard, but if waiting until next summer avoids insane markups, so be it.

You will be waiting a few years at minimum, if it ever happens. The lines are long and supply is little.

I dunno man, I think you're over exaggerating things. Its Honda after all. They are one of the largest mass vehicle manufacturers in the world. Unlike the germans, they produce vehicles for the masses, and they already knew the demand was gonna be high as sh*t, so I'm almost certain that they've thought this through. We might be waiting until '23 summer, but shouldn't be any longer than that. Whats the point of launching a 2023MY if you're gonna deliver in 2024?

Yeah, even if everything were to mellow out, I don’t see demand for the Type R dropping, and pricing will track that.

You are right about Boost being available previously, but the Honda Canada press release said the FL5 is coming only in Championship White, Sonic Gray, and Red. I expect that it could change going forward and they may cycle in Boost and/or Black like other markets are getting.

The issue will be the total number they build. And they’ve already stated, from Honda, that they want to reduce the output of this car.
