Ya it's $500 cdn and the seller has a hoist and is willing to help install it...I guess worth taking a chance as I can sell it quickly if it doesn't work out... Right now I have a RV6 DP with the front small and far rear res removed, running the basic pop tune from Phearable... actually sounds decent
I think at that kind of deal it’s a no brainer I’d get it for sure ????

Why are they selling it?

@Ac12 in my expierence the Track can be droney at certain RPMs, it does not have our 180 Tech.

That being said, it is an easy one piece swap to the Touring Editon via our conversion kit to add that in there if you find you do not like the Track Edition.

To address comments on drone on the Touring Edition, during the several days I had in the FL5 during testing and filming, I did not experience drone whatsoever and I am very familiar with drone, hence why I prefer the Touring Edition on nearly every application we offer systems for. More volume at certain points in the tach is not the same as drone, and that is not my experience with the system. That being said, if you still feel that something is up it is worth looking into with our support team, which is why we are here.

Incorrect installation of a system is the number one culprit of issues, which is why it is the first thing that we have to look into as far as providing support. Keep in mind that it is something we have to rule out in order to get to the root cause and so it will be confirmed when you reach out for help so we can understand the situation as best as we can and document accordingly.

That being said, I have first hand experience with our support team and the lengths they go through to get to the bottom of potential issues and get them resolved for customers. If anyone is having an active issue and feels that they need additional support, please shoot me a PM here with your personal/ticket info and I am happy to help facilitate a proper resolution with the support team.

Hey good morning, just wanted to provide some info related to a horrid rattle I experienced with this exhaust (AWE Touring)

About a month ago, right below the driver/passenger area a noisy rattle began to occur once the car began to warm up (never went away. Upon investigation (assuming it was related to the exhaust clamp, I thought maybe it came loose) I discovered the exhaust clamp bolt bracket was literally touching the heat shield. This was 100% user install failure. I didn’t even think about it when I installed it but naturally I put it in this position because it is the easiest position to get a socket wrench in to tighten it when installing it on jack stands. If you have a lift I’m sure it’s easier or different feeling.

My reason for posting this is because I could see many people choosing to let this happen due to lack of forethought. I could be a singular outlier here, not saying this is everyone else’s problem on the exhaust. But I loosened the clamp and rotated the bracket down more and have driven it a little since then and my noise is gone. Picture attached for relevance.

I also want to point out I’m not attempting to defend any poor quality defects causing noise by AWE, but I want people to understand the failure that occurs needs to be understood before assuming a bad exhaust. This is a perfect example of failing to install it properly.

Hopefully it helps someone!

Well stated post. We feel that the only necessary addition would be our support link:

I put an AWE Touring on mine last May and here's my thoughts. FYI don't use sound clips for judgement on these things; unfortunately, sound clips do not do this exhaust comparisons justice. I recommend going to a meet if possible and try and see if you can find someone that can exemplify their exhaust system and help guide you.

As an inexperienced car enthusiast, I don't have much knowledge of different brands, so I don't feel qualified to compare but, I feel I was exactly in your shoes. Only difference was I didn't feel like AWE had a bad reputation, maybe the opposite truthfully. I think there was even a poll somewhere on this forum where everyone voted for their exhaust manufacturer for the FL5 (AWE was #1 IIRC.) The 2nd most popular option was to delete the resonator and run it stock.

I bought the exhaust and to be completely honest the most AGONIZING part was the shipping time. It took way longer than I was initially promised to get the exhaust and while their customer service was choppy.... They did respond and try to assure/take care of me. They sent me a small kit (T-shirt and stickers) as an apology for the long wait time, didn't really care for it but it is what it is. They continued to update me on shipping delays due to material shortages and order backups (a lot of people were ordering it.)

Once I got it the following weekend, I think I spent 3-4 hours in my driveway on jackstands uninstalling the OEM one and putting on the AWE one. The install was pretty straightforward I felt like. The exhaust itself, in my opinion was of good quality. No questionable welds, material looked good. I don't love the idea of ring/hose clamps, but it works (still has, no problems.)

After putting it on, started the car and personally fell in love with the sound. I think it sounds perfect, of course this is subjective for everyone, not too loud but had far more character than stock. It is loud enough that I can hear it in the cabin but it's not so bad that it's unbearable. I enjoy it. Everyone who has rode in my car thinks the drone is fine. Haven't had one bad thing to say about it. Never experienced any rattle that people have mentioned. Idk if the rattle is due to an install failure or just maybe bad parts, so I can't speak on that. My only genuine concern is that the clamps come loose over time, but I haven't checked on it yet, probably when I go to swap my pads this summer I will.

The one noteworthy thing that scared me was when I first installed it, it did make a very strange start up noise the first few starts. It's hard to describe but it almost sounded like an abnormal burble/popping on startup. It did it like 3 times in the first 2 weeks and I have never heard it again. AWE does mention something about this in the install/start-up guide or something like that and talks about giving it 1 month to acclimate to the car.

If I had to rate the entire experience, I'd give it an 8/10. 6/10 for customer service, 8/10 for part quality (clamp/hose rings are what brought it down for me, but the material/welds are fine), and 10/10 for satisfaction of the product sound.

Long read, but I hope that helps.

EDIT: here is the link to the poll I was referring to. I just want to point out the poll is more of a popularity contest rather than what sounds best but use it at your discretion.

Thanks for the write up. It helps a lot. I'm going to be switching from OEM to 'something' after winter. Would you do anything differently looking back?

The $1,000 price difference from AWE track to everything else may just be enough to ignore slip-fit joints, etc. How's it holding up? I come from WRX with an aftermarket exhaust lineage, so drone is not a concern for me and the stock FL5 is borderline unacceptable.

By my research:
Apexi N1 $3000
Remark Touring Triple $2595
Remark Touring Dual $1795
AWE Track $1290
AWE Touring $1755
Invidia $2,000
HKS $2,140

The slip-fit joints are honestly fine. I have had 0 issues with them loosening or causing a problem.

I still think the AWE provides a great exhaust system. The only problem I've had with it is the nasty rattle caused by the overextended exhaust hangers that hang just under the center console area of the car. Over time, due to the slip-joints I suppose you could say, the exhaust extended to the rear of the car probably 1/4 - 3/4" (totally guessing) this allowed the exhaust hangers to rub and create an INSANELY bad rattle against the frame. I ended up discovering what the rattle was and trimmed the exhaust hangers short enough that it should not be a problem again. I did this with AWEs blessing (didn't want to void any warranties).

So as far as doing anything differently, I guess I would be prepared to know that's potentially going to be a problem, unless AWE addressed it. Other than that, I still have it on and don't plan on changing it.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

Not sure if it's already been brought up because I didn't read through all five pages of this thread, but I'd strongly recommend an exhaust with bolt up flanges instead of an exhaust with a slip fit design.

Still running my Remark SS exhaust for those interested and couldn’t be happier . Haven’t touched it and been driving spiritedly off and on for months. It’s at a great price point with a lot of bang for the buck such a quality made exhaust.

I'd have to agree on going with something that doesn't use slip fits. Every issue on awe is blamed on incorrect install by their customer service. If they used flanges then they would no longer be able to use this excuse to dismiss customer concerns like they do.
