Ah! I was wondering what your plans were with regard to keeping the tires from potentially getting flat spots. I now have my answer. Other than that, just an oil change and trickle charger, yeah?

I’m hoping I’m far enough south that maybe I won’t need to let it sit for more than a month…and might even have some good enough weather to sporadically drive it a little here and there.

Lol, i keep mine garaged on dws and maybe back it out and repark it once or twice a month. That seems like overkill.

It’s not really overkill. It’s more of a preference thing. You can do what you’re saying, but you should let it warm up to operating temp before putting it back in the garage. It’s also helpful to mark your tires, so when you put the car back in the garage you don’t let the tires sit on the same exact spot where they sat before.

Seems a little excessive. But I'm the guy that plans on daily driving my car through everything but snow... I did it for 6 years with my S2000 and this car is much more comfortable and better suited for it.

I understand that not all people have the means to garage a vehicle for long periods, but I and others do. I’m going to be garaging my car under these 2 conditions :

1. Salt on the roads.
2. Too cold to safely drive on the summer tires. I’d also prefer not to cause excessive wear or crack any sidewalls.

Otherwise I hope to get the car out periodically. I’ve only lived in central IL a bit over a year, but I think I’m just barely far enough away from the north that winters don’t get too harsh for too long.

Let us know how that works out! I bought a trickle charger, but I’m not exactly sure how/where to run the cables and also use my car cover.

Assuming the vehicle is stored in a safe enclosed space, why cover it? I understand the trickle charger piece, but the car cover seems unnecessary unless you have a unique use case or problem you need to solve for.

If you absolutely need to cover the car, depending on where the trickle charger is plugged in you would run the cables from the trickle charger into the engine bay, lower the hood (do not latch), and then cover the car. If you have ppf on the front clip, no need to worry about the cables marring the paint. I place the car on a trickle charger often - minus the car cover - and this approach works well.

@Clark_Kent The cover is to keep water and snow/slush from dripping off the garage door onto the car (when the garage door is opened). It’s not a must that the car is covered, but I won’t have to deal with water spots and crap accumulating on my car while it sits. I’m sure this is what @CaryH is thinking too.
