I thought it shows the speed limit on the speedo as a dash along with cruise control speed

it doesn’t make any sense in my experience. it does not coincide with limits on the roads i drive on. also, it shows 30 as Max on the the pic. thanks for answering!

try switching your units to metric, then back to imperial and see if it works. I'm in Canada, and the tick performs as expected when in metric

Strange it wouldn't be correct. A camera reads the speed limit signs on the side of the road. That's were it gets the information, not GPS

I think Honda might be trolling the couple last non-metric markets - cause it says Max 30, and 30kmh = 18.64mph, which is roughly where the red tick is showing on the photo. Or they just made a dumb mistake.

The LogR average speed function is the same way. It says MPH but its actually in KPH.

Today I had a random Max 40 (again wrong, it was a 65mph highway) and the red tick was at 25mph.

Or could it simply be a dual function (similar to a watch that can display dual time zones)? I’m not sure why one in the US would need to know kph at a glance, but since it’s just a small red tick, it seems intentional…though not particularly useful. Maybe data nerds love it??
