I’m planning on WTGI in July. Already booked my rental.yeah I am told same with watkins... I want to go next year but can't do everything
Its only 3 hours from here. I really should be going to WGI instead of VIR but I want to come drive with yall. We will see what is in the cards with work/time/moneyI’m planning on WTGI in July. Already booked my rental.
Its just a shame that its such an expensive hobby really. I do 3 to 8 events a year, depends on what is going on with my life. This year though I am doing the lime rock park auto cross club, can go there every month and 3 months get to go twice, the lime rock auto cross is awesome, no cones, its a mini track really and they time you. End of the year the top 30 cars get to come back and battle it for number 1. I will never be number one but my goal is to just be in the 30 cars. Last year I went once and I am about 2 sec from being able to get top 30 so we will see what I can negotiate there. The nice thing is no need to get insuranceWGI is a bit sketchy with with walls, And weather. It's great, but it takes time and commitment for sure. And lots of sim practice.
VIR is definitely a must drive as well, and can probably get up to speed a little quicker with the runoff and well a bunch of folks there that want to help.
That sounds interesting. Its just a shame that its such an expensive hobby really. I do 3 to 8 events a year, depends on what is going on with my life. yeah. I was not into it until a friend that does it convinced me to come. $1250 for the season and you get a TON of seat time. Its 1 week day per month and then 3 months you also get to do 1 weekend day. Week days there are maybe 10-12 cars so you drive a lotThat sounds interesting.
Damn I thought drag racing was expensive. In my head I'm thinking each event, insurance, lodging, consumables and getting there and back. You're looking at 2k does this sound right?so its a 3 day event? (fri-sun) I assume prob $350 a day? I def can't do all 3 days but really want to do Sat-Sun, will prob just get a hotel nearby
For this trip yes but normally I drive same day to track but track day is $250 to $400, insurance is about $270-$300. If I go the day before hotel is like $200.Damn I thought drag racing was expensive. In my head I'm thinking each event, insurance, lodging, consumables and getting there and back. As my buddy says, tracking cars is the new yacht club. It'll only be more private and expensive, so gotta enjoy it while we can....barely can
