If you blow up a motor or break parts. Does the insurance cover them?

Nope. Unless it blows up after you smack a wall or something. I guess the order of operations matters ?

not to mention fast people will kill tires and brake pads every few track days so add that to the tally.

But even so, its some of the most fun days I have had in the past few years (some days are better than others of course but a good day at the track is sublime and worth the money at the end of the day)

I think about it all the time. No insurance = double the track days almost
you may have to tow it depending on goals, etc. so that cost may factor into things.

can do insurance if you wanted, and it would be a drop in the bucket compared to the Civic.

Yeah I don’t want to ever tow a car in, I would get a decent miata, newer car, half cage it, maybe get a little trailer to carry tires and shit. Would def be under 20k so I would probably not do insurance (even though it probably $100)

This season is gonna be another light year for me. Hyperfest is one week before this event. Got some hard decisions to make lol.
I try to avoid Hyperfest at this point. The general organization of the event has slipped quite a bit from its initial inception. Last time it was there it was a nightmare.

I think if I get back into this hobby more (like 10+ weekends a year) I would 100% get a dedicated car. Maybe an older spec series something, maybe a swapped Honda, but something I didn't build. MIght save the heartache when it eventually hits something ?

Miatas are rad. I know some don't love them and sure you not gonna get the track day attention like you showed up with a GT3RS but I always talk to miata owners, they always different kinds of people that drive miatas.

One day I want to have a Miata for track day use only. Fvck the dual duty of a car like CTR. I want to beat on it without too much care and be the butt of jokes at every single drivers meeting and classroom. You know that Miata…

Miatas are great race cars when everybody else is in one also. Terrible track day cars. Sucks to feel like you're really getting everything out of it just to have gramps in his corvette blow by you on the straights then idle through the corners.
