Moving from radiators to downpipes, other than the potential for a CEL with the RV6 is there any power advantage to the TSP catted downpipe vs. the RV6 catted downpipe? The RV6 is on sale as well so it's now ~$300 cheaper, so I was curious.

GESI is just a higher caliber cat. It’s going to flow well, while still burning clean, and shouldn’t be more durable to abuse.

RV6 is moving to GESI from what they told me, as the rest of their line has too.

@J1Avs I've never claimed that anything was better. However I believe in the people behind the company. They truly support this community. They do top notch fabrication are a American based business. Pick up the phone and answer emails actually remember who they communicate with. Establishing relationships and networking is more important to me.

Completely agree and respect that, and it’s how I chose to do business as well! It sounded like you had some inside baseball, so I curious.

if the TTB tries to bump you to Tuner for removing the rain guard you should start a riot ?

I'm still writing letters trying to get cambered ball joints approved, which have less adjustability than a top mount on most cars

Haha I don't disagree it would be a bit silly, but I didn't want to mess with it this year - I already bug the rules guys enough ?.

If they viewed it as a hood vent modification though it would probably bump to max, as iirc max is the first class that can do vented hoods.

Fun fact - this year someone in my class at TT Nats got bounced to Tuner for an FMIC (and I think maybe some other stuff), and must have misunderstood a conversation we had regarding what I wanted to do vs. what I was able to do regarding the rear suspension (bars, camber), and played the "well he's (me) illegal tooooo" card. Which, was really amusing when the officials came over to talk to me considering I wrote them multiple emails about rear bar allowances (and they were like ya, we know you are legal, we just have to ask) ? .

That was probably @B Trip with his Type S who got knocked into Tuner. I have asked him what happened. He knew the intercooler was Tuner jail, but I guess still kept it on. Not sure what other mods could have moved him.

He also had the ball joints, but I think those should be allowed as other cars can also do the top mount or camber bolts. I wouldn't have protested that if I was there, but intercooler definitely is a no-no, especially after being told.

Yep, I think that's him! We chatted a bit throughout the event, seemed like a nice guy. I'm not sure who protested him - I was not paying enough attention during the impound session to notice. I doubt the FMIC mattered much in the temps we were running in - I didn't notice high IATs on my end with the stock setup. But, the SCCA is a stickler for the rules, regardless of if it matters or not. My car became Sport-illegal a few days after TT Nationals thanks to the RMM and Karcepts bar I installed after, knowing I'd be in Tuner anyway next year. ?

I’ll bring the ball joints up over beers again ? - see if I can sell it a little more haha. So many people are just dealing with tire obliteration to stay in Sport.

It really hasn't been bad at all - I think people are sleeping on the camber plates (and/or running narrow wheels and tires). You can't max them, but they still help. With rotation my wear has been very stable.

I know this is a common request rules-wise but I really can't complain about my tire wear with the Ballade camber plates, Swift springs, and Eibach rear bar (coupled with the 18x11 / 285/30R18s RE71RS). I certainly wouldn't make a decision based on that allowance alone.



Here are pictures of my tires - probably at around -2.5° front / -2° rear (no adjustment back there yet obviously) - this is after around 10-15 autocross runs and the equivalent of ~12x 15min track sessions.



All 4 were rotated around a bit so these are just the final resting positions - they are all basically at or below the wear bars, but they haven't worn through the tread compound yet anywhere even on the outside edges.

The ball joints are just a much easier install and go more with "hand tools" vibe that sport is supposed to be.

In my experience the lower spring perch on the factory shock will run into the chassis if you try to max it - I was able to get around -2.5° front, which is more than with just the pins pulled (which I believe would be around -1.9°), but less than you could do if you could max them.

Yeah that makes sense, on my last car was similar with stock shock max was 2.6. Which is pretty decent as a dual duty car. Thats what I am aiming for with ball joints
