Do you street drive the car. I got mixed answers about it.
I don't DD it but I do street drive it. The potential for reduced airflow thing made no sense to me and I have had no issues. Someone somewhere in this thread commented (paraphrasing) that it generally made no sense to PWR either but someone had said something about it so they added it as a disclaimer.

I'm usually hovering around 170°F on the street.

What about safety equipment for track days. Do you need helmet, suit ,gloves etc
Do they have tech inspection like the drag strip.

Some groups do tech, some don't.

You need a helmet and that is it. Some do have suits (specially if caged stripped car).
I and some here have a hans device but not everyone has one and is not required.

Also have gloves (a must for me) and racing shoes (to get me in the spirit) but also not required.

Really just need a helmet (and if you don't have one you can rent one at the track)

I watched the gears and gasoline video with PointByPatrol. The guy switched out of his suit. Wasn't sure why he didn't just keep it on. I'm actually looking into helmet and suits now.

I'm so full of shit. Told myself that I'm keeping my car stock. Now I'm looking into a damn racing suit and a new truck for a tow vehicle. So disappointed in myself lol
Stop making those promises you know you can't keep ?

For VIR with TSCC how difficult would it be to move up to intermediate? How many days on track should I really have for that? I'll be at 6 days at that point?

Reason I'm asking is to possibly take advantage of the Friday on track as well which doesn't appear available to novice. At least it wasn't last memorial Day event.
Registration is open?

:patriot: hello from London. Anything car/track related I should check out here? I am hoping to have this afternoon and tomorrow afternoon. Maybe Thursday morning if work goes as planned. I've only been here once before 15 years ago, and I've had ZERO time to research as this was a last-minute trip.

Friday is open to all solo drivers. I mean if you know the flags, have spatial awareness of the other cars, i.e. look at your mirror once in a while, understand speed differentials, and can hold a consistent line: turn-in, apex, exit, then you should be fine to sign up for intermediate.

not sure about car stuff, but Covent Gardens looks cool, and the usual touristy stuff, funny hat men, and the King, and the Bridge, etc.

I still want to go out with someone on Friday regardless just for track awareness. Thanks for the info. I may go that route!
