yep...in my Golf R i was doing 144.5 mph on the front and back straight with the OEM turbo. BUT I never knew that while driving....key is just to look ahead, look for your markers and point of references and the speeds will not feel that fast.
damn that is rapid.

I will be doing a bunch of sim VR at VIR before coming down. I think the fastest I have been on a track is lime rock straight and I think 135ish with the M2 comp, the type R was a bit slower on the straight. LRP straight is short but you go into it at 90

I did 139 in the Elantra N down the back straight at VIR, and that was my first day using the car.

Coming down the hill at LRP to the straight takes real commitment for sure.

Started the morning watching VIR videos. Back straight speeds are no joke  I'm gonna have to build up to that ?
VIR is what made me get rid of my turbo Integra for a Miata. Speeds were high enough the entire car started shaking from having the windows down. I started to price out caging the Integra and it just made sense to transition into a Miata for some spec racing.

Boosted Integra sounds like fun

Honestly I don't typically find tracks with crazy high speeds that enjoyable - Road America is honestly pretty meh for TT stuff, although the facility is awesome - I'd much rather do AMP or Barber. VIR seems like it's a better mix (although I've never driven it), so probably not Road America bad, but it definitely has some fast spots.

Tom O'Gorman says VIR is basically 2 dyno runs with some turns connecting them

Road America is like that, but it's 7 dyno runs coupled by ~90° turns, with some esses thrown in at the end because they didn't know what else to do there.

Road America has never interested me for that exact reason. VIR certainly has it's areas for HP to shine but none of the turns connecting them are easy to master. It takes a lot of laps to get things clicking right. The upper esses don't look like much in video but they are tricky and also probably the most fun section of race track I have ever driven. Definitely put it on your bucket list.

Just chatting with a coworker who is rebuilding a DA with a turbo b swap. Sounds fun but I need less car parts in boxes not more ?

I did love my DA and EF hatch though.

I'd pay double what I sold my '91 for to have it back now. A teal '93 Gs-R popped up on Facebook market place the other day that had me wanting to rob a bank to go buy it.

Same. Had an all original 1 owner '91 Si from Cali. Red. Kicking myself for not just storing it instead of selling it. Not gonna find that again.. I'll never learn lol.
