Hello,

My 2022 Honda Civic SI shifter is stiff after sitting in the garage overnight but loosens up after driving. Does anyone know of a procedure to lubricate the shifter linkage? I’ve seen some videos indicate replacing the shifter bushings in the console and others indicate lubricating the linkage under the battery box. I bought it pre owned with 30K miles so I’m not sure what it was like when it was new. I also wondered if when it was pressure washed under the hood some of the lubricant was washed away.

Thanks

Roby

Just change your MTF to Amsoil. The stuff pretty much eliminated any shifter notchiness I experienced (including cold notchiness) with my old Si. Ask @Jester04 . He knows. Note that I used this MTF for several years of South Dakota then Wisconsin winters (with the same car). It doesn’t get much more extreme than that…not in the US anyway.?

Thank you Type RD. That was on my list of maintenance items to perform. ???
Right on! Try the MTF swap before “fixing” shifter stuff that may not be broken.? I think you’ll be surprised and amazed by the difference Amsoil makes.
No, I am not a dealer ; Just a big fan of the Amsoil products I’ve tried and strongly encourage others to try their MTF above all.?

I’m running the amsoil severe gear 75w-90 on mine and it smoothened things out quite a bit.
