I just got my 2024 Civic Touring wrapped. When I got it back from the shop, I had a smart key system error on my display. When I got home, I discovered that it is specifically the smart entry where the car unlocks itself if you have the fob nearby and grab the handle, as well as locking itself when you walk away with the fob. Neither function works now, and when I walk away with the fob now, the car beeps several times rapidly, and I can see the error pop up on the dash again.
I did a little troubleshooting, and it does seem like it's with the car, and not with my fob (the fob still unlocks/locks with the buttons). The wrap is vinyl, not anything chrome or wacky like that.
The shop is telling me that it may work itself out, but I doubt that's the case, and I want to come prepared with as much info as I can when I go back this weekend to have it addressed. I'm thinking it might be either the inside of the handle being wrapped that is covering a sensor, or possibly that something wasn't plugged in properly when the body was put back together.
Any other thoughts as to what it could be, or troubleshooting that I could try on my own? Thank you!
