So I ran into a problem 9n my previous car a 22 WRX. I got winter steelies and tires from tirerack and they said it fit. They came in and wouldn’t fit over the brakes even though their website said it would. Am I going to run into the same damn problem again if I try that? It’s a pita returning 4 wheels and tires js. Does anyone know specifically what steelies I should be looking for? I.e. Size….

Not sure what to look for, but I would recommend going to Discount Tire and having them take a look and account for your brake calipers. See if their recommendation matches Tire Rack’s. Heck, Discount Tire might give you as good of a price or better than Tire Rack too.

Consider buying a set of used OEM wheels, so your car looks and handles like it should. I've done that for my last few cars, along with buying a snow tire size narrower and taller for traction and potholes.
Another time I bought a set of Pep Boys cheapest alloys for about $200. Offset difference altered steering feel, but it was my wife's car and she didn't mind.
Now living in the AZ desert and happy to leave snow tires behind.

Why steel wheels, why not a set of decent looking wheels? It's not much more money.

Because it’s strictly for winter tires and they are the cheapest. Winter in the northeast destroy factory wheels and I’m not trying to clean them EVERY day after work. Will previous Si generation wheels fit? Does anyone know…
