Has anyone else had the issue of the rev indicator lights not turning on while driving? They are turned on in the settings and they do flash when the car is started though so I know the LEDs work.

They won't turn on till about 4000 RPM and with the cluster in the R+ mode (not sure about that one). So if you're cruising you won't see it.

On the Si it doesn't start until about 5000 rpms, it may be slightly different on the R, but if you are still in break-in mode you may not see them until you get past break-in.

Found out this evening that they will come on in a non-R mode. I had it set to individual (using non-R guages in this mode) and they came on for me.

The shift lights are for racing, not puttering around town. Let the engine rev up to 5k + RPM’s and you’ll see the lights. I don’t believe it matters which drive mode you’re using, but I haven’t tested this to be sure…especially as I don’t like Comfort mode and stay away from it.?

@TypeRD thank you for the quick response. I already tried reving up to redline just for the sake of testing it still same result. Im gonna check later maybe need to turn off then restart then turn back on.

Oh that’s odd. Just to check the boxes, are you in +R mode (or Individual mode with the engine in +R)? I don’t think this matters, but it would be good to rule it out nonetheless.

I thought my lights didn't work at first too. They don't come on until nearly 6,000 RPM and then its a very quick flash from green to yellow to red. I was wondering if the red indicators mean that you are approaching redline or have you just blown past it? Anybody know? The manual doesn't even discuss the lights that I could find.

Do they still activate under very light throttle or do you need to be somewhat on it for them to work?

The lights only come on for me when I am very close to redline. Not sure how others are seeing them around 4 or 5k rpm. I am going to double check my settings consist with earlier posts to see if that makes a difference.

Is your car at operating temperature? S2000's didn't let VTEC engage to prevent engine damage when cold. Seems like a dumb thing to suggest but there were monthly threads on S2KI back in the day and this was always the answer.

I believe the shift lights work in all modes.
