Wheels and tires were up next. 18x9.5 +42 Gray Volkswagen CE28SL’s with 275 /35 R18 Continental Extreme Contact Sport 02. Was delighted to hear from the manager of Discount Tire that these are super grippy and an excellent tire. Which surprised me because they were the cheaper of the two between another set of Michelin Pilot Sport 4S I was considering just in 18’s.
Securing them with Project Kics R40 Iconix lug nuts and locks. Also running Muteki hubcentric rings. The techs at discount tire were nice enough to warn me that for whatever reason there wasn’t the gasket in the tools so the finish on the lug nuts might scratch. Very minor to me though. Thanked them for even letting me know. When they were turning the car over to me after the work the tech said the new set is wicked light compared to the OEM set up. When I was adhering the stickers then ceramic coating the wheels this afternoon I was definitely surprised at how light they were. Come to think of it my UPS guy said he was surprised as well. lol.

Now on to photos.

Installed the 08P48-T60-100 Film Protection Package w/PT Solution from College Hills Honda. Online instructions were pretty straightforward. I like the OEM door edge protection. Wish I would have installed this when I first got the car. Got a spot where paint rubbed off the back bumper when a Lowe’s rep was loading a Weber grill box in the trunk.

So I installed the door cup guards and door edge guards today. Once I repair the missing paint spot I’ll install the bumper protection piece.

I'm looking at a set of these. Apparently they moved to 50mm OD. What hubcentric rings are you using, and where did you get them? Thanks!

They’re actually 75 wheel center bore. I got the 75-64.1mm rings from Evasive where I got the wheels also. They’re of the Muteki brand.

The CE28 wheels look great; these are one of my favorite Volks.

Attempted to install the PRL RMM this morning at the local military base auto hobby shop. Couldn’t get two of the screws holding the tray off. Started rounding out the Philips head part. Even sprayed it with penetrating oil spray the best I could. And they wouldn’t come out. Fuckers are on there wicked tight. Decided against drilling them out until I can get replacements. So what should have been an easy install was a fail.

Installed the front seat covers from eBay seller Hyperparts23 aka @L1MTD_R

Still need to smooth them out in places but they’ll do the job in protecting the original seats. Was already starting to get some wear on the drivers side left lower seat bolster that I wasn’t happy with.

Bolted on a Sayber Designs front lip. Had a hell of a time getting the bumper on and off. Not sure what I did but all the underside pop clip holes don’t line back up.
Got the screws in the fender wells and the top pop clips back in.
Might have to take it to a shop to get the bumper put back on properly. I think it’ll hold for now, feels pretty sturdy.

Been awhile since my last update. I’m sure I’ve forgotten some things. But the most recent addition is the Acuity Instruments Stage 2 shift kit.

Here’s a rough overlay of the gears compared to stock.

The short throw adapter reduces forward/backward travel distances. And the shifter rocker upgrade decreases left/right travel distances.

Only had it installed a few days now. I already thought the OEM shifter was great but I wanted a shorter throw and knob height. Overall first impression is it feels great. No play or softness in gear, every shift just notches into place. Kinda hard to explain, definitely gotta feel it for yourself.

Also just swapped from the CE’s to a set of the OEM forged accessory wheels with AFD wheel spacers. I’ll throw some pics up here and in the wheel spacers thread when I take some photos.

Also bought a set of the 3D Mats too. They’re brighter than the actual carpet. Coverage seems good and they’re molded/shaped very nicely.

Lastly, took advantage of some Black Friday sales. Got a 27Won down pipe, PRL front pipe, Hybrid Racing Formula exhaust with burnt tips, Hybrid Racing detect springs, Verus jack pucks, titanium exhaust stud kit, and PRL Silicone Intake Hose Kit on order.

Gonna need an updated tune. Debating whether to get a Phearable revision for the Stage 2 I have now or considering Jester for tuning.

Another Black Friday purchase arrived. Billetworkz Alcantara shift boot. Pretty easy install, removing the staples from the OEM boot took up most of the time. Now it matches my Alcantara steering wheel. No more leather in the car!

Swapped out the OEM Bose subwoofer for a Rockford Fosgate P3SD2-8 8" Dual 2-Ohm subwoofer. Used this guy's videos on YT as a guide: Civic Type R FL5 Subwoofer Upgrade - Part 1.
Seems to thump harder. Regretfully didn't take any photos. =(
