I put in the Hybrid springs after I installed Acuity's Stage 2 components. And I've appreciated the even more direct feel when changing gears as well as the more pronounced return to center force. The initial post relaying Acuity's view had me concerned. So I reached out. Now I'm not as concerned.
This concerned me so I messaged Hybrid and received the following response:
There are layers of truth in that reply.
One thing I agree with is that feel is ultimately a matter of preference. If you don’t like a stiff or notchy shift, detent springs probably aren’t for you.
That said, it’s...
Spent some time today installing the Ultimate Motorsports (UMS) Sequential rear garnish lights. I went with the V2 style.
install was kind of a pain. I didn’t fully remove the rear bumper. Just popped it off on each corner and entered from the wheel wells. I installed them using T-tap wire...
I love the Alcantara wheel! Gives it that premium race car option type feel. I think it matches the interior more as well since the seats, side and center armrests are the same material.
I finally swapped my shift boot for a black Alcantara one from Billetworkz too. So no more leather in my...
Nice! How’d you get a test lower Alcantara wheel cover from Oneminibite?
Been considering their Alcantara center console cover and think that lower wheel cover would go great with my OEM Alcantara wheel.
I really like the Hybrid exhaust so far. I think the burnt titanium tips go well with my boost blue. I also opted to use Hybrids valve controller so I like that I can control it on demand.
The res delete made the exhaust just a little more audible. Enough that I could tell from inside the car...
I just swapped out my OEM exhaust. Did the rear resonator delete for about a year before getting Hybrids exhaust.
I’d take these as approximate measurements. Depending on how much you trust iPhones measurement app.
Didn’t realize TSP’s offering didn’t need a tune. My query with AI was specifically for the 27Won downpipe.
In that case I might try installing it w/o a tune. But I’d feel more comfortable if I had one. Just seems like one of those major upgrades that should be accompanied with a tune.
I asked Google’s Gemini the same thing. I wouldn’t do it. At least get a new base map accommodating the new down pipe. Jester04 (jestertuned.com) was able to get me a base map last Sunday evening after I installed my
full exhaust parts.
TLDR: at least the bold text.
The short answer is: You...
Yes, I'd recommend the AFD spacers in my experience so far. They seemed solid and machined well. AFD says they are made of 7075-T6 billet aluminum, which is Bonoss more expensive option of the two types they offer for the FL5.
And I believe mine shipped from California.
I bought into the Quad Lock ecosystem since I ride motorcycles. I've had a good experience with their case and charging on the the FL5 wireless charging pad.
My only gripe is that charging is slow on the pad with my iPhone 17 Pro Max. Google tells me the pad in the FL5 offers 15W Qi wireless...
A tune will really wake it up. I only had the Spoon air cleaner when I went with the phearable stage 2 tune.
Then Black Friday happened and I hadn’t spent money on the CTR in a long time so I went with the inlet pipe, down pipe, front pipe, and exhaust. lol. Figured do as much as I can at one...
I wanted the burnt tip to go with the boost blue. It's interesting when I was getting ready to reinstall the rear undertray, I was looking at the tips directly and the left one was definitely blue ringed, while the right one looked purple. Kinda cool, maybe just the way the sun was hitting it...
Finally finished installing the exhaust. Rubber hangers are a pain to deal with. I opted to go with Hybrid’s controller for the exhaust valve. Don’t know what it sounds like yet. Afraid to start and run the engine until I get an updated tune.
oh and figured out where that extra bolt went. It was...
Started my full exhaust install this morning. Got the 27Won downpipe, titanium exhaust studs kit from turbo to downpipe, and PRL front pipe installed. As well as a PRL RMM I’ve had for a long time and just now getting around to putting it in. Hybrid Racing Formula exhaust is supposed to be...
Wonder what the required accompanying mods will be? I'm guessing the fuel system will need to be upgraded ya?
(Be gentle, I'm not familiar with what all is needed if upgrading a turbo. lol)
