Hi All,

Im going to ceramic coat my new civic (first time doign this), but wanted to see what others think about my plan. Im not a detailer and this is all kind of new to me. I wanted to go as budget as i can with a bit of a splurge with the F6 (might return and just get 3D one. F6 is about $10 more), but my plan is as follows:

1) wash
2) iron remover whole car
3) using HF DA to polish paint using koch chemie F6 with a HF grants yellow pad
4) wash again
5) amazon nano bond ceramic coat (project farm tested)

what do you think? i have polished my other cars but never really paid much attention to making sure i did a great job. thoughts or suggestions are appreciated. thanks all!

Technique is key, but you will also want to ensure you are using quality products (chemicals and equipment/gear). For ceramic coating, I suggest a higher quality consumer grade product - GTECHNIQ, CQuartz, AMMO, GYEON come to mind.

yeah you can end up spending a limitless amount. I’m not looking for show car. Just protection and a good shine. You’re totally right, technique is going to be key. I’ll try my best.

My advise is dont do it when tired and not good lighting. I screwed my ceramic coating portion badly.

I washed the car, then sprayed iron remover, rinsed off, sprayed iron remover a second time, rinsed off again, clay barred the car, washed a second time, dried and waxed with Meguiars Ultimate wax. This was the result. Took about 4 hours one morning when I first got it but worth it.
