Howdie!

Forever wanted a Type R. And finally got one yesterday. CW 2025 FL5. Actually lost sleep the night before picking it up and still can’t believe it’s sitting in my garage!

Help with few questions as there are numerous choicea.

1. Which rock guard?

2. What floor mat do you recommend? I’m saving the red OEM ones for special occasions.

3. Ceramic coating. Do it my self or get it done by a pro? Don’t have much experience doing this. I have done one in the past using Griot’s Garage Ceramic but I’m not sure if this Is considered ”ceramic coating”: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B084F4DC92?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_4&th=1

Cheers!

I am installed RokBlokz rally mud flaps which come with rock guard:

https://rokblokz.com/collections/ho...roducts/honda-civic-type-r-fl5-2023-mud-flaps

I used thermoplastic sheet (cut and heated then bent to shape) to protect the floor mat under the pedals, in my 07 FA5 Si my heel dug a hole through both the floor mat and the carpet underneath...

I might consider the high wall Honda OEM mats, part 08P15-T60-110

I had FX3D rock guards but will be ordering some Megachip guards to replace. I heard high wall OEM mats have velcro on on the bottom side which some people dislike due to possibly damaging carpet where velcro attaches.

Hi,

I read good things about FX3D guards. I’m curious to why you are replacing it with Megachip?

Thank you.

Overall I like their guards especially their front guards. But for me, I don't quite like their rears due to bottom bracket design. It damaged the clear coat where bracket touches underneath the bumper.

+1 on the FX3D Rock Guards front and rear. I'm pretty happy with them.

I went with Dream Automotive 5part mat set. I'm happy with those too.

Enjoy the car, I'm still loving every second of owning it.

The idea of mudflaps or quasi-mudflaps on a sport compact car makes me shudder. Skip it and go with FlapFab, ALPLUS, or similar. Simple, functional, and doesn't kill the look of the car. This car looks too good to muck it up with unnecessary hardware.

For floormats, if you plan to daily the car, I would go with a floormat that provides maximum coverage and will hold up to inclement weather. If this is not your daily, OEM Contoured High Wall Carpet Floormats (Part Number 08P15-T60-110) are the only option.

Excuse the poor lighting in my garage but here is my Tuxmats and ALPLUS carbon fiber rock guards . I highly recommend both for great protection. Oh and Weathertech for the hatch only because Tuxmat was on back order when I ordered but looks good and does the job.

Thanks for sharing!

I already have Type R OEM Trunk mat.

I will likely order the Tuxmat tonight. FL5 does not have USB in the back so I assume I order floor Tuxmat without USB port???

As far as rock guard, I kind of like bit of black flaps sticking out slightly. Looking at Mega chip or ZL1 at the moment.

On the other note, I noticed you got Remark SS exhaust. Couple questions. Why not Titanium? Also, what did it cost you for the exhaust and labor if you don’t mind me asking?

Thanks again!

Yes I’m pretty sure that is what I ordered no ports it’s been a year since I bought the tuxmats so it’s a little blurry lol. Also they come with some clips to make them even more secure and I felt no need for them the fit is so good and there is no Movement whatsoever. You’re going to love them they are a nice quality option with excellent protection.
As far as my Remark exhaust it really was a hard decision whether to go with Titanium or SS. The first reason was the cost almost double the price and I was afraid if I didn’t like the system I’d have to sell it and take a bigger loss. Also from all the pictures I viewed the tips are much smaller with the titanium system and I liked the tips more on the SS although just my personal preference” But the burnt Ti tips look beautiful “. Also from my research I’ve heard the Titanium could sound thinner and not as deep whether it’s true or not I don’t know. But what I do know is I love the sound with the SS nice and deep no drone louder when you want it but not obnoxious. With all the choices I feel very fortunate to land on a exhaust that makes me smile every time I hit the start button????
The Remark Exhaust is eye candy the welds are so beautiful and with unbelievable bang for the buck. The fitment was perfection the installer made no adjustments just hung the exhaust and tightened everything up and the tips were perfectly aligned as were everything else.
Knowing how much I like the exhaust I probably would have went Titanium and took a gamble on sound. With that being said I’m totally happy with what I have.

Thank you very much!

Also did you PPF your FL5? This has been stressing me out deciding.

Ceramic coat? If so DIY or professional?

cheers!
