Hi there. It seems that I need 2 new tires. I ran PS4S until now. They were fine.
I have 2 new ones on the front, on the back they must be changed (see other thread).

Question: what do you think about running different brand on the fron and back, lets say Continentals on the back, PS4S on the front?
Michelin cost much and are hard to get here as for now, Contis can be organized in one day and they are also very cheap (half price).

Question 2: can you recommend other tire brands (stock rims / size)?

Thank you!

Unless you are really tight for money, I'd just change out the whole set. Depending on how you drive, the difference in tires will cause different grip levels leading to unusual traction that you may not be familiar with.

If you just drive it around town casually, you should be okay.

If you drive faster or on track, it may be sketchy.

Check your Honda dealer for deals on the Michellin tires. The OEM ones are much cheaper than the regular production Pilots.

second this, my local dealer is selling the OEM pilot sport for ~$190 a tire, compared to $368.99 on tirerack (DT1 variant)

Edit: I see you're in Europe, not sure what the situation is like over there

I'll try this, thank you for the messages. Europe can be "special" sometimes, and I mean it in a bad way. At least here in Switzerland Honda is very unpopular brand, almost non existent. Dealerships are small and mostly bad. I really envy you the Honda scene in the US. What counts here are german brands, mostly BMW, VW, Benz. Every corner of the street presents some BMW M3, M4, C63 AMG and so on.. Very few track cars. They mostly rot being driven 80 km/h ..

I highly advise against mixing tire brands or models. Differences in lateral stiffness, when the rears are softer, result in very unstable handling at speed.

I've experienced this problem on other cars. I believe the OEM Michelin's are stiff compared to Continentals for example.
