Also, not sure if there is a better place to ask this, but the dealer upsold me on an extended warranty with JM&A (Platinum level) for $3587 to extend my 3/36k to 8/100k. I usually don't go for these but I have 60 days to cancel it for a full refund and reviews say it's actually a good warranty. Anyone with experience with this one?
Thats a cash grab, avoid it. Imo stay away from any third party warranty. I've had so much of a hassle dealing with them with my past 2 cars

Honda offers a premium warranties up to 8 years for $2,500, you can get it before you hit 5,000 miles. That would be way better and would have 0 stress getting any warranty work done since its through Honda and not a third-party

A very quick quote with a dealer and I'm looking at 8/120k with $0 deductible for $1245. I should've trusted my gut at the dealer. Gonna call them today to cancel and as long as they don't make cancellation a headache, no big deal though.

Never knew about Honda Care before today. Thanks, guys! I plan on adding that to my car if and when I finally get it.

I think the reason that it is so easy to speed in this car is because it feels so stable. The car is quick but not crazy fast. At 60 mph you feel like you're only going 45 mph...
Anything with a fat torque curve is “easy” to speed in, because torque makes speed seem effortless (whereas horsepower makes it seem like speed requires a great amount of effort).

My Jetta TDI got up to freeway speed at part throttle with little effort and stayed there all day pulling just a couple thousand RPM. The Type R, being turbocharged, benefits from this same sensation. My wife’s Mk7 GTI, with its EA888 engine, felt the same, and it makes a fair bit less than a K20C1.

Cruising speed seems 15-20 mph less than other cars to CTRs point. It’s definitely stability.

Spent the last couple evenings to drive some much needed break-in miles after the car had PPF done.

FL5 is very fun and near-flawless out of the box. The car will dart towards whichever direction I point it to with pretty much no body roll. The seat firmly keeps me in place comfortably. Together with a great engine, the car drives on b-roads swiftly and effortlessly.

This is the shortest suspension I ever experienced compared to previous cars I had with coilovers. Yet the FL5 rides remarkably well in comfort mode. So well that if I'm blindfolded, I would not know the car has 19" wheels with 30 series tire. I wish Sport and +R modes are mapped with better valving, but it's not as crazy stiff as some people find. Definitely more bearable than a set of JIC-Magic coilovers in medium.
When you mean shortest are you referring to suspension travel or the wheel gap?

Completely different perspective than the comments from others. The Type R always feels like it is going faster than it actually is. I attribute it to the firm suspension and high revs at highway speeds.

Most cars I’ve had are heavier and have gearing that would be approx 2k rpm at 70mph.

I don't doubt it. I'm sure it feels like you could probably get out and walk at 45mph. haha

Lol. I think it might be a combo of seating position, cabin view and stability. My FL1 has the same effect but to a much lesser degree. I must be crazy because 70 in my FL5 feels like 40-50.

Edit, could be my adrenaline slowing things down too ?.

Instead of sitting through weekend afternoon traffic after today's dealer visit, I went for a drive on a different set of b-road. Turns are not long sweeps and get very tight at times, I start to feel the FL5 is a little "big" for the road. I guess I will just stick with the roads I previously chose.

Half way through the drive, it was just in time to stop for a nice sunset. A yellow Supra was pulling out as I was looking for parking and I was like "I had never seen a yellow one driving around". However, I can feel the guy in the Supra is more curious than I am. Both of us were surprised as I had never came across a 4-cylinder Supra while he had never seen a FL5 in person. The Supra guy says lots of people asking for a pull not knowing it's not the V6. That was a fun talk.

It's definitely not a small car. You can feel it in the tight roundabouts. It's still plenty fun to drive but if you're expecting Miata/S2000 feel you will not get it with the FL5 (or likely any 4 door car).
