Hey folks,

I wanted to drop in and share a bit about the work we've put into our Performance Air Intake for the 2022+ Honda Civic Si. Before we get into the nitty-gritty details, here's a quick overview of the end results:
  • Dyno-proven gains of up to 4.9 hp and 4.7 ft-lbs of torque
  • 50.7% less restrictive than stock air intake
  • Improved intake tone under acceleration - LISTEN HERE
  • Injection-molded MAF housing with glass-fiber reinforced nylon ensures safe air-fuel ratios
  • Uses our patented multi-lipped gasket (Patent #11,773,813 B2)
For our more in-depth projects, we typically have our engineers prepare an extensive Engineering Report to offer a behind-the-scenes look at what went into development. The Engineering Report for this air intake can be found HERE. I've also written a blog that dives into the work that went into this air intake.

11th Gen Honda Civic Mishimoto Civic Si Air Intake R&D mmai-civ-22bk-4

We're excited to have this air intake on the market and look forward to seeing them on builds out in the wild! I'm happy to answer any questions anybody has about this intake or anything else in our product lineup for the 11th generation Civic Si.

Nice system you got there for that platform. Good to have more options on the market.

Correct me if I'm wrong but this system isn't just for the civic si but all the 11th gen civics with the 1.5L and also the Integra's. I've have it installed for a few months now; it looks good, easy install, sound is slightly louder, and a slight bump in throttle response and power.

The mouth opening of Mishimotos' box is larger than the other companies for more flow. There was a writeup about how a civic dyno-ed higher with the hood latched open because OEM intake box opening is a restriction. PRL band aided their box flow by adding a second air intake ducting to the wheel well for their HVI, but that's an added cost. Another plus and option is I was able to fit the Mishi intake to the 27won turbo inlet pipe by choosing the 27won coupler for the PRL HVI.

I have several small design suggestions, if Mishi wants to do a revision. Move the MAF sensor further so we don't have to undo the 90degree wire harness. The box is to perfectly shaped and close around the cone filter so if the coupler angle isn't positioned just write the filter will bump the box and make a slight thud noise when the car starts/auto restarts. Mine still thuds when I'm on an upward incline hill. A suggestion for Mishi is make a more flexible coupler with one of those humps in it. The Intake box could be slightly larger to allow the filter more room to move so it doesn't thud and to not impede air flow around all sides of the filter.

Don't get If you're ocd, the uncommon and low thud noise might be annoying. Do get it If you're performance focused because the larger mouth opening allows more air flow for less cash than the PRL HVI with the addon ducting.

Hey @ModJPB - You're correct, this intake is also compatible with all 11th Generation Civics and Integras with the 1.5L engine! Glad to hear you're enjoying your intake.

Regarding the design feedback, I've made sure to pass this along to our Engineering Team! Thanks for sharing.
