540 miles. I nailed it in 3rd gear from about 2500 to the first shift light in the row ... I forget what rpm it was... maybe 5500 to 6 or so. It pulls harder than I expected.

I'll baby it another 60 miles and then gradually start running it harder. It should be plenty of fun even stone stock.

It feels decently quick stock, that is until you try a tune. Once you have experienced that then the car feels extremely slow in stock form lol.

Yeah, I'm sure it does. I have my Mk7 GTI tuned to 337 hp and I think it's 370 ft lbs of torque and maybe slightly more due to the intake, and could never go back. The Honda has more potential IMO so I'll have to check it out. The fatter tires and true limited slip are huge factors as well. The only thing is; I don't like the idea of sending the ECU out and hoping it will make it back. I wonder if in time someone will develop how to crack the code and then just flash with the OBDII like Unitronic, APR and some of the Euro cars do? Early on we had to send ours in too.

For now there is no ETA on a remote option sadly. But yeah the car has great potential, and the limited slip does a great job. I have a bunch of customers running around tuned and always their first response is Holy S***. ?

Can you point me to info on the most popular tunes? It seems like there are a few different options but mine being a new car, I haven't research them too closely yet. Thanks.

There are a couple to choose from but the vendors for this here in the forums are:
TSP and myself so you can’t go wrong with either.

Just found this thread. I got mine in late Feb 2023, did 24k in 1 year. Currently sitting at ~34k miles. Does anyone in here have more miles? Trying to see if mine is the highest mileage FL5 so far ?

Picked mine up 4/13/24 and I just hit 350 miles. I should probably drive it more...

Hondata is making a stop outside Columbus OH and can unlock in-person. The dates are listed somewhere on the site - I think Sept 28th?

Roughly 16.5K miles, owned since December 19th, 2022. #00862

It's still as fun as the first day I drove it! Glad to be a part of this community.

Honestly this has been one of the best car forums I have been a part of. And everybody is chill for the most part.

It’s been a year and a month. I think I have around 5k miles but since it’s been to 3 track days, it’s probably similar to 12k miles ?

Thanks, I might do it .... I'm just outside of Akron, so not too far.

Almost 13k here, 02486, mixed duty as daily with my old trusty 99 Silverado. Also serves as kid transport for practices, school, etc and always generates smiles from the kids when they get a ride ?. Type R is hard to not drive with my daily trip being all mountain roads to and from work, it’s the reason I bought it after all ?
