Exact same code -

Fuel rail/system pressure - too low bank

To be precise it was me in FL5 ( stock engine no mods ), another FL5 ( stock engine no mods ), 2020 FK8 ( stock engine no mods ) and Zygrene car journalist Type S with Cobb tuning.

Then I turned off this Honda Tracking, full tank, nothing, and the next day full day, nothing happened.

I think the conspiracy theory of Honda shutting down the cars, seems legally maybe dangerous thing for them to do, so I am leaning on the side of, they didn't do that?? But the car does have a way to disable it remotely. I'll run more track days with the data sharing off.

Buy yeah, it was very weird... And everyone had a full tank, and on the same exact session..

Unless there is something to do with the exact temperature on track at that session that maybe triggered something..

We have no idea
It’s HPFP. Had the same thing happen in September after about 18 track days. It was occurring in the same spot, on a straight, on my second flyer. Almost every session.

The first time it happened was in June, but then it never happened again until September (with ~5 track days in between), when it became nearly every session.

Honda replaced my HPFP under warranty and it hasn’t happened again.

Hey everyone, long time lurker, first time poster.

I've done a few track days at Limerock and NY Safety Track with no issues.

I was at Watkins Glen a week or 2 ago and at the end of my first session (which I started with a full tank of 93), got the same warnings on the back straight. Car went into limp mode/lost all power and was limited to 35mph. Luckily they threw the checker right after so I wasn't that much in the way. I put the scan tool on and it was the same P0087 low fuel rail pressure. I figured because it was down to about half a tank by the end of the session that maybe it was fuel starvation. Topped up the tank, went back out and for my second session and Lap 2, same spot on the back straight, car goes into limp mode again.

At the end of the day, I decided to risk it and go out again and had no problems. I was letting off early before the braking zone assuming the fuel pump just wasn't keeping up and only stayed out for a few laps since the car was getting borderline hot. It did show at times that it was running a little more boost (23-25psi) than I've been seeing. The car on the street is usually between 21-23psi.

Just to note, I started LogR every session, it showed it was recording, but never recorded any data or lap times (all day)

Car is run with the pedal dance and is stock besides a CSF radiator and the usual Pads/Fluid/Tires. Still runs 100% fine on the street.

I've read every thread I can find on the topic. Most people have just gone out on track without enough fuel, some people get their HPFP replaced under warranty. Whats the consensus on the issue? I'd rather not take the car to the dealer if there is actually no problem and the stock fuel pumps just can't keep up. But I also don't want to get stuck out on track again going 35mph.

Did it go limp right after you crest the Esses, before the bus stop? I had this happen to me 2 years ago in my FK8. Same CEL code. However, no issues with the FL5 last year and this year. Well, I should say, not the same issue. So I resolved the issue but trading in the car.

I think @J1Avs had something intermittent like this as well. Think it was the HPFP that was replaced under warranty

Yes, both times in that exact spot.

I went 128mph to limp mode. Luckily no one was behind me. Scary experience
