as for including a gasket, can’t you avoid that by sending out units de-pinned so it can easily be routed through the existing gasket?
I could but the problem lies with the stock one being clicked into place and most people don’t have the depinning tool to pop them out and put them back into the correct spot. You’d have to do that to remove it through the factory gasket. Trying to avoid any common issues with a plug n play kit.

I haven’t installed the one I purchased from you, yet, in order to fully understand the technicalities involved.

May I ask where the issue lies, if the stock body grommet is cut/fileted off of the stock harness, then the module with longer leads, and a new body grommet installed onto the wires ready to go into the hatch, correct?

or is the center brake light pigtail w/wiring connector fed through the grommet, and is the piece that needs de-pinned?

Hope that these two scenarios make sense, as I said I haven’t had my hatch apart yet to install

Go watch Phothrottles YouTube video, he did a great job walking through the install.

I’ve watched that video several times and here is my takeaway.

I don’t see why that if a new body grommet is supplied, it couldn’t be installed right onto the longer module harness. This way the OEM wiring with grommet can remain intact and left inside the hatch for a clean non destructive installation? Basically a PnP module extension with grommet on one end of the harness with wiring of proper length, to facilitate module dip switch access from left side taillight.

it also appears that Phothrottle reinstalled the body grommet in reverse with the molded nipple pointing to the inside of the cabin vs outside of the hatch towards center brake light. At least that is what I think I see.

why couldn’t this be the Brake Light Modulator kit?? No de-pinning required. No molesting the factory harness!

You’re not wrong, I just don’t want to deal with the additional bulky grommet since I can just depin the connectors for an OEM clean install.
Obviously we are looking at it through the lense of a consumer. I don’t know what OP goes through to have these made along with the whole cost/profit aspect.

Why de-pin?? The only difference between what I drew up, and your OEM clean install is the remaining body grommet on the cars’ wiring harness. Want the ‘OEM clean install’, slice off the original grommet. Want the reversible/unaltered install, leave the OEM grommet on, period.

as for the cost of the hatch body grommet, I think it is supplied only on the hatch wiring (for ~$99, 32109-T43-J00) from Honda. Perhaps as an individual piece via the aftermarket?

It takes me 5 seconds to depin the original connector. No need to slice anything off. Honestly I don’t care about adding another grommet. If OP releases another version with an included grommet, I don’t care either way. I just want longer wires so I can place the module somewhere I can easily access it.
