Hybrid Racing short shifter

Installed Hybrid racing short shifter in my 22 Si today. Not the most fun job, but got it done and it works fine. But the car would not start after the install. disconnected and reconnected the battery but still would not start. finally got the message " To start, touch start button with emblem side of remote". Basically, hold the remote in front of the start button and then start as normal. You have to do that every time to start the car. WTF did I screw up ! Any ideas anyone ?

I would double check to make sure everything is plugged in and connected, seems like something was missed.

I second on checking the connections. If you left anything unplugged it may not start.

Make sure you have connected the remote key sensor. It's inside the console near the right side of the shifter. That might be your issue.
